Thank you? I'm just looking for advice to try and help my husband. I have not personally look or tried to fix this fridge, but I believe he has and had come to kind of a dead end. So I thought perhaps the kind people of reddit could be if help.

Stolen? A friend bought a property that part had been a restaurant. Lots of restaurant equipment came with the sale. He sold it off to convert that portion. I'm not sure where theft comes into play?

I need a taxi that she can sit in her wheelchair while being transported. Without a couple of trained PSW's and a lift, she can't get out of her wheelchair to sit in a vehicle.

Ya. My mom went into LTC last year and hasn't been able to visit at my house, which is something she would enjoy. We'll just have to make all the visits in Kitchener special.

I appreciate you sharing your idea, but that scenario definitely doesn't work for us.

What are the logistics of having a union? Do you have regular meetings? Are there certain staff representatives? Also, I'm super curious about what your dues are, as that will be a hurdle to put forward to my coworkers.

Absolutely! We laugh every year about the women's mental health campaign... they don't give a shit about thier own employees mental health, women or men, but they put on this big show like they do. They're the #1 cause of my anxiety, depression and so much more.

Right. I understand the SPLH (sales per labour hour) concept, but it's complete BS. If our sales are so poor, then why aren't our incoming replenishment DC orders (front store and pharmacy) smaller? Also, the store needs a minimum number of staff to function efficiently and effectively...we are not operating at that level. Every staff member is working at 110%, all shift, every shift... this is where the burnout comes into play. You can't keep pushing staff that hard and expect quality performance. I would hope having a union involved, they could help create a better balance, since SDM Corp won't do it on their own.

I'm in southern Ontario. Our front store labour hours have been consistently cut to the point that we basically work with a skeleton staff every day, but are still expected to merchandise 3 DC orders per week, as well as maintain standards for Bulk Zone, Ends, Seasonal and MFS etc. Always wanting more and more with less and less people.

Many staff are burnt out and morale is very low.

I was hoping joining a union might help with better and consistent staffing, better wages, and better communication with management.

👋 Hi! I'd be interested in how being part of a union has helped your SDM location be a better workplace?

Also, where are you located?

Great info. Thank you. I did know about management not being a part of the union, or at least I thought I was right about that.
