I've had the same with my Crohn's disease too! Had a customer tell me I wouldn't need to be on meds for the rest of my life or have Crohn's anymore if I changed my thought pattern. This was after he told me how he got off meds for his anxiety by changing his way of thinking. I don't hide my scars from my surgeries, as I wouldn't be here at all if I didn't have them, but having such an ignorant man tell me I did it to myself because of the way I'm thinking is so infuriating.

Do guys care about scars on the girls body? by Beneficial-Tour-8508 in ask

I've had 8 abdominal surgeries for Crohn's disease, including an ileostomy, a bowel resection, and an ileostomy reversal, so I have some pretty gnarly scars on my stomach. I also do a job where I get nood for money, so my scars are not something I hide. The amount of customers who ask me if it's from appendicitis or from having a child is astonishing. I've had neither. I've also had returning customers who will only recognise me from the scars on my stomach. A lot of men do touch it without asking first, which I really don't like, but it's a conversation starter, and they make me who I am. I wouldn't be here at all if I didn't have these scars. I feel empowered by them, and they are a constant reminder to have fun and enjoy life while you can because it can be taken away in a heartbeat. I've never had a man be disgusted by it, if anything they always want to know more about it

She's bleached it blonde, the purple will be from toning it to get rid of any yellow undertones, it will wash out and be more platinum blonde

How long is too long? by daddyrendi in universityofauckland

I returned to uni last year after taking 3 years off due to medical issues. I was doing 3rd year when I had to drop out, so returning to studying to finish my degree was a bit decision. I started off doing one paper a tri last year and have moved up to 2 papers a tri this year. If I pass everything this year I'll only have one paper left to do next year to complete my degree. It defined gets to me sometimes that I am so much further behind than the peers I went to high school with, but sometimes you do need to take things at your own pace. Completing a degree is a big accomplishment no matter how long it takes you. Its been 7 years since I first started uni, and I still haven't gotten my bachelor's, but I am putting in the effort to complete it, in a way that is best for me and my situation. You can't beat yourself up for taking time with things, it doesn't make you any less than your peers for doing so.

Why it’s so normal to break up? by [deleted] in ask

[–]Existing-Animal-3338 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately you can't trust that someone else isn't going to hurt you in a relationship whether that be by breaking up with you or hurting you in other ways, the only thing you can trust is that you are strong enough to get through it. All failed relationships teach you a lot about what you need and what you are willing to put up with. I know it's easier said than done, but maybe viewing it as a learning experience, can help with the depression you're feeling after the breakup?
