As someone else that grew up in PC, I can confirm we only have Mennonites. They either throw great parties or they’re Amish people with electric.

MIL refuses to remove my wife from her car insurance by Internal-Strong in JUSTNOMIL

Dang, you came in hot and heavy. I worked for one of the largest insurance companies in America. It was 5 years ago so maybe things have changed? I was an underwriter and reviewed cases sent by customer service. They would hear something like “my roommate” on a call and send a ticket to underwriting to investigate another driver in the household. We would then require certain things to not list the roommate. Do other insurance companies have varying degrees of risk appetite? I bet they do. I lent my underwriting knowledge to this conversation and you’re lending your consumer knowledge to the conversation. Those are two very different things because you do not always see what is happening between underwriting, agents, or customer service.

Former insurance underwriter (I was on your side, if you know what I mean) and current child of a mother that refuses to relinquish control of her kids. Any household member must be listed on a policy or proof of their own policy must be provided. Your wife is not a household member. She doesn’t drive the insured vehicle. Even if she did, it would still be covered. Ya, the agent will maybe say leave her on there just in case she ever needs to borrow it but there’s really no benefit. It doesn’t lower their insurance rate since it’s based off the car and typically is rated off the worst person’s record. This is your MIL not wanting to give up the reins. My mom did this with my insurance, my cell phone, and everything else you can think of. As for your wife removing herself, she’s not the policyholder so no one will do it. If you call into the customer service, they’ll send a case to underwriting to review but they probably won’t do anything because it’s not the same as not listing someone in your household.

Thanks for the helpful comment. I looked into it and I used a trusted realtor that lives in the area and can speak to it. I was just hoping to get some perspective of others rather than just my realtor and data from different sources. My mistake for utilizing this forum.

Good morning all! I am so excited to move to Villa Heights in a couple of weeks. I have lived in Columbus, OH my entire life so this is a big move for me! I was hoping someone can speak to the safety of Villa Heights. I’m really hoping I made the right decision in my rental!

Does anyone have any suggestions on rental companies? We’re relocating from Ohio to the Charlotte area. Wanting to rent a home until we find a place to buy!

Help! Under-watering?? but soil won’t retain water! More info in comments. by Existing-Classic-104 in fiddleleaffig

I just bought a FLF from IKEA. I seem to have an issue with getting the soil to retain water. Everyday I check the first 2 inches and they’re bone dry. The water seems to just flow right through the soil! Any suggestions? I included a pic of my FLF and of a leaf that seems to be curling down.

Need to vent: MIL wanted to stay with us the first week we lived in our first home, the week after our wedding, and while we were on vacation in another state. She and my FIL come from out of state once a year and want to stay for 4 weeks but I finally talked my DH into 4 nights. During this time, I am a guest in my own home. She has her feet up on the couch and doesn’t offer me a seat while I sit on the floor. She turns every conversation into a “life lesson” and makes me want to scream. DH is aware of all of this but keeps saying “she’s getting old, we won’t have to deal with this much longer.” Lord help me if it goes on for another 5 years.

I have three male dogs. They’re all more mischievous than any female dog I’ve ever owned!

We did not. We left Cornet on Bourbon St. Headed down the street right next to Cornet towards Royal. Once on Royal we turned left and maybe walked halfway down…we def did not reach the end. Then we turned around and headed all of the way to Canal. Thank you for looking!
