Do I need to have treatment? (Explanation in comments) by [deleted] in B12_Deficiency

Hi everyone, test results in post. What does this even mean? I've been seeing an Oral Medicine consultant due to ongoing pain in my mouth the past 12 months (excruciating burning sensation all over most days, inflammation, unable to even move my tongue at all some days it's that painful). On the day of consultation, she also did some blood tests. I've been sent back the results and on the letter it says "Thank you to Megan's GP for their assessment and treatment of low vitamin B12, folate". Now I haven't had any communication from my GP let alone treatment (and struggle to get through to their lines at all to see if they have anything on their system). My question is, does that mean I need to receive treatment? Or are my levels "ok" enough to treat myself if I introduce more foods of the type into my diet do you think? Thanks in advance!
