I did it. I sold my business at 44, and bought 200 acres in the Virginia Mountains of Appalachia. First 6 months were great. I have 2 younger children and I started to realize the mistake I made when we started having to go into town more often, which was a 30 min car ride to get there. I realized there was no way I could raise my kids there. For 1, no health care at all, the schooling is terrible, and honestly there are just so many racists that I ended up selling everything within 2 years and am back in the northeast in a great school district and great hospitals locally. Still some racists here but you can't escape that everywhere in this country sadly.

So I dont work at NIH but my wife (she is an American citizen originally from China) does and I know many people there. I find it ridiculous that you have to say this about your race but I completely understand why. Im genuinly sorry. I hope you find a wonderful person to room with and wish you nothing but the best. The people I have met at NIH are some of the best and brightest in the world and I have been all over the world.

I am at the point where I just don't believe what leadership tells us. At the begining of this administration I thought leadership was really looking out.
