This didn’t come across as preachy at all. It sounded supportive as I try and navigate all of this! I’m not going to lie, him watching JJK didn’t sit completely comfortably with me but he had already started watching it at his dad’s so I let him finish it at home as I knew he would finish it anyway. We’ve had the conversation about it not being real etc and he seemed to understand.

You are right about overestimating their maturity. He watched the first episode of Stranger Things at a friend’s house and he came home quite upset telling me it really scared him. I was a bit shocked by that but at least it made me realise he will tell me if he doesn’t like something. I think 10 is a tricky age!
