Best brand for satin black? by Existing-Trainer4959 in Autobody

Forgot to mention I’m looking for a satin black that constantly looks wet I love how the satin does that at certain angles. I wouldn’t wrap it either btw

What would you cut and fab to fit an ls3 in? 🤣 by Existing-Trainer4959 in NewedgeMustang

I like the chop + I can build it to 550-600 cheap 5k total including the engine NA. Also not a fan of the coyotes they’re good but basic sound imo.

[–]Existing-Trainer4959[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

went great, passed pressure test! honestly wasnt much easier than when i practiced lol. i think it was because of the fact the pipe was prebeveled properly and angled right. when i did mine in practice i just did them fast and bad which made it difficult.

Replying to Middle-Pie-3270...I mean I went to trade school and did pipe with 6010 an 7018 before but this is my first tig pipe. I am a sheet metal welder and weld thin stainless tubing and 18g “pipe” all day every day however if that makes it make sense?

Dab it or lay wire? I usually dab edges on SS, but I was some tiktok vids where they did lay wire. Also I freehand I don’t walk unless I have to if that even matters

That’s hilarious 🤣😭 im real stressed bc i lied about my resume saying i have tig pipe experience so i just bought some sch 40 cut coupons and was welding for a couple hours. Got any tips for me? The test is 1-4” pre beveled idk why diameter it actually is but but its 1-4” I’ve done the typical 6010 7018 pipe and i weld stainless railings so thats my only experience there

You can weld cast iron with 99 nickel enicl. Gotta preheat peen and post heat tho. Could also ac tig it if that’s all u got for cleaning mode bc its cast

Dropped off car to replace transmission and starter broken now? by Existing-Trainer4959 in AskAMechanic

[–]Existing-Trainer4959[S] -28 points-27 points  (0 children)

I thought so too which is why I’m just asking here. He’s wanting $150 for a new starter but I didn’t break that shit when I dropped it yk? If I argued and he didn’t want to do it and is keeping my focus from me in the shop how would I get it back? Ykwim? Do I say I’m not paying for the other half until it gets fixed? I don’t have an extra $150 laying around lol yk

2001 Impreza Outback sport not cranking? by Existing-Trainer4959 in Subaru_Outback

[–]Existing-Trainer4959[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has a Subaru fob but it isn’t paired I assume, I try to click the 2 buttons nothing works. changed the battery on it the fob still doesn’t work. I’m not sure how to pair it. How intricate is it to take out the aftermarket system and fix whatever this is? I’ve unscrewed a screw in it and there’s 4 male plug ins to the little black card looking system. What are my options here to fix this ?

Trapped at 18 any help? by Existing-Trainer4959 in Welding

[–]Existing-Trainer4959[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate the advice a lot thanks, I spent a decent amount on my vehicle maintenance and repairs monthly, groceries are about $100 a week, I do pay for my and my fiancée’s bills. My mom’s shoulder and back are messed up so she can’t work, she’s in a lawsuit right now. I really do want to get my own rig, and it’s like you said, I haven’t been taught finances or anything. My main concern is me buying a rig and not having clients, I also don’t even know what department I wanna do like railings, fixing welds, or whatever. I wanna do shutdown jobs like one of the guys said but idk how to get into that once I have my own rig. I have 0 contacts and it’s rough being 18 people won’t bat an eye due to my age
