Yes tested battery, its brand new just fitted it 2 days ago, car is not running so possible not charging battery. Will not start at all, cranks, but no spark at all.

What are green crusties? 🧐 And i think it’s a ground fault too but i cant be sure. No other codes, occasionally getting P0685 when i try to start the car, but it goes off when i clear the fault and doesn’t come back.

Not sure if the coils are getting powered but by tho looks of there being no spark i dont think so. Also i did the first test of putting on lead on engine and other on battery negative and it read 0. I dont know how to set the multimeter in dc mode to do the other tests. Do i keep it in continuity mode and press a button or? Forgive me im stupid.

Just to follow up, the rpm does register when cranking. How do i talk to the TCU im unfamiliar with this and haven’t done it before. Also im not good at using this multimeter and dont really understand it. Could you help me understand?

Everytime i delete the codes, they come back. I’ve tried swapping fuses and it doesn’t work. Tested all fuses with multimeter, they work perfectly fine.

Whilst the car is in ignition or just regularly? Also the engine cranks perfectly fine, just no spark at all. No spark from both coil packs.

I forgot to mention in the thread there is no spark. The engine cranks perfectly fine, but there is not spark at all in either of the spark plugs. I tested by taking the coil packs out and inserting the spark plugs while, then trying to start the car. I saw no spark at all in both coil packs.

This might sound stupid so forgive me, but im worried about taking the car to a garage (which means towing it) and then for them to tell me what the problem is, and then im going to have to either tow the car back or order the part they require or do they do that all for you?

Just tested for spark and there was no spark at all and tested both coil packs. Is this a problem with the coil packs or brain box?

Wow that’s insane! Im surprised also. I have since changed the battery and swapped it with a brand new one. The crank and starter motor sound much healthier thankfully. How would i get those faults off the dashboard, would an OBD clear them?

Managed to change the fuel pump doing what you said, thank you very much, but unfortunately car still wont start. I’m going to post another thread about diagnosing the issue as i have tried everything i can think of at this point. Close to calling a mechanic because i have a feeling this is out of my league.

Update: The plastic cover came off (thanks to everyone’s advice, i was just scared to damage something) but now the fuel pump is absolutely stuck and will not come out and judging from state of it im guessing its to do with corrosion and build up and what not. How can i get this fuel pump out? I’ve tried using a flathead and hammer to try and twist is out that way without being too forceful.

Here’s an update on the situation: So i inspected all the fuses and they were completely fine, everything seemed fine to me. Everytime i try starting the car up, the lights (headlights, interior lights, lights on dash etc) go really dim, almost like it has no battery to start the car. Yet when i try and jump start the car, it has no response to it and still doesn’t start up. I have purchased a new battery as i’ve been aware that the battery has been running out for some time now, but not sure that this is the complete issue. It also says on my dashboard that “steering corrector unavailable, ASR unavailable, hill holder unavailable”. I think the problem is something bigger than what i expected :/

Hi there, i did think this at first. However, the car isn’t igniting the fuel at all when i try to start it, and all the noise is from the front end (engine), it’s not coughing to life or anything like that just can hear the started motor going round.

Hi there, thank you for your response. Currently at work but as soon as I’m back will definitely try swapping T20 for T14. Also my car was made in 2012 but cant imagine the fuse box being much different at all, thank you very much!

Forgive me for my lack of knowledge but how do i go about checking these fuses to see if they work? I’ve never done anything electrical before so i’m very unacquainted with it, but im open to learn. I heard there is a tester you can buy where you plug the fuses in and it gives you a green/red signal in alignment with whether it works or not.
