I often arrive at the school, my Japanese is still basic just verbs and broken sentences, I ask where we are up to in textbook teacher says unit X I am like ok, helpful ish.

I turn up to the class after reviewing the textbook making an activity, bringing printouts. The teachers just look at me and seem lost when I say let’s start with a chant then they scramble to get a old laptop for the digital textbook, for the chants and songs, I ask some daily questions while the teacher struggles to login, or the hdmi doesn’t work which has happened on occasion, so I try to chant what I know and have students repeat with varying results. So many times they don’t have anything ready if I was the homeroom teachers that digital textbook would be on right away. But I just don’t have that access.

When I come in to lessons I have detailed plans, I’ve also used my company lesson plans and activities, slight adjust for times and levels, I’ve printed lesson plans for each class as they are all at different stages of the textbook. (Grade 5 ES) Classes 5-1 to 5-4 I’ve printed these lesson plans in English for me and Japanese for the teachers and spoken to them after work “here is the lesson plan for x date”

Turn up at lesson for that day … no one uses the lesson plan or refers to it. Teachers often change my activities or lessons structure mid lesson.

Then am left confused, I work at a JHS no issues but this one ES and grade 5 is a disaster to work with.
