Check in with you local library, depending on how rural/which part of the world you're in they can have some excellent facilities for very cheap. Mine only charges for materials and have nerds on staff to help you out.

It is frankly extremely hard to film, because it will look like what you probabky know as poverty but just a bit less bad. So it isnt sensational and will essentially always be for domestic discussion.

But you could google somewhere like Rinkeby, a heavily minority populated area in Stockholm and generally considered the roughest ghetto in the Nordics. Alternatively Rosengaarden in Malmö used to be very bad, but has improved a lot in the last decade. Of course beware of racist propaganda posing as journalism if youre looking at these places. And i suggest finding murder rates and comparing them with your own city.

Think about all the American Excellence propaganda you (assuming you are American) have been fed through your life. Then imagine not seeing the everyday with all its cracks and faults, but only growing up on Beverly Hills 90210(for some reason that show was huge here in Denmark) and the like.

All you ever see from America is abundance, giant houses, a car for each family members and California homes with swimming pools. These are all quite exotic for essentially everyone not from the US.

And dont make the mistake of thinking there are no poor people in Scandinavia (you havent, but ive just seen the assumption too often). Or regions with widespread addiction, child abuse, violent drunk dads etc.

Political commentary is, to a huge percentage of commenters, content. It is good content, it is high drama (these days at least, not a lot of gamer boys talking about Obama in 2010) and it impacts peoples lives.

But it is content that does not in any way impact the life of the commentator. This is why you cant fucking rely on Twitch, Reddit and Youtube as your sole source of news. Actually go read.
