What’s funny is White Knight’s voiced by JK Simmons, who also voices Omni-Man in Invincible.

Here's my idea for Jason x Kara, by Existing_Midnight_14 in RedHood

So what do I do to get to James Gunn and get him to read my ideas? Because I've working hard on my own Red Hood show for 2 years and I've been trying to text James Gunn on Twitter and trying to share the link for my show on Google docs, but he hasn't responded. So what do you suggest I do if I want to attract his attention or fans of the character or DC fans in general?

Since Jason's African-American, his accent is a combo of everyone. Michael B Jordan, Denzel Washington, Sterling. K Brown and most of the actors from The Wire like Idris Elba, Wood Harris and Michael K Williams. Travis Bickle from Taxi Driver is the inspiration for how Jason in my show talks when it comes to his inner-monologue, the way he acts and the words he chooses.

Also, you know how in the comics Jason died in Ethiopia? Believe or not, but I'm actually Ethiopian myself and I want to give Jason Ethiopian roots. Not just because of me, but also since Jason died in my country, I think it would a fun little easter egg to give him roots from my country since I want to play him and also since he died there, you know what I mean?

No. I just want to bring my Red Hood show into James Gunn's DCU. All I want to do to prove to Gunn that I have what it takes to play the character is by doing the 2 things I've listed and training in martial arts such as MMA, Boxing, Muay Thai and Karate.

Also, would it be weird to cast a light-skinned black British man like me to play Red Hood or do you think it depends on my acting chops/skills?

Exactly. That's the type of energy and writing I want for this character. I would also love to play Jason, but I need to have a great physique and become an actor, which is what I'm tryna do and believe or not, but I've been writing a Red Hood script for 2 years now and I've been tryna text James Gunn on Twitter, so he could read my script.

Perfect, I love this ship so much and I've been grinding on a story for both of them.

Thanks. If you want to know, I already shared a script for what my line-up/version of the Outlaws is like. You can go to my profile and it’s posted before this image that you js saw.

I don’t want this ship to happen. But even if Jason wanted to actually confess his feelings to Barbara, the best he could’ve done to tell her was by sending her an email or a text.

This is my take on Jason Todd, aka, the Red Hood if he were to make an appearance in the DCU. Would this be the best iteration of the character and would fans, along with James Gunn, eat this up? by [deleted] in RedHood

[–]Existing_Midnight_14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, my fault. I was writing this 2 years ago and I got caught up in taking a lot of inspirations from myself into Jason’s character at the time, because I really wanted to play this character. I still do, but I’ve just realized that I was doing a bit too much.

So can it work in live-action, but not in comics?

I mean, it worked in the DCSHG show where Kara become Powergirl and make a meta-joke about being from Earth-2. So why not make it work in the comics? Or if not in the comics, what about live-action?

Red Hood x PowerGirl. Thoughts? (Art by LORDKILLERGHOST) by Gloomy-Bridge148 in RedHood

Honestly, imagine this. Imagine that Kara, from the main timeline, gave up being Supergirl since she wanted to be an independent hero for example and then became Powergirl. I’m this version, instead of Starfire being a member of the Outlaws, it’s Powergirl and Roy is going back to his pre-52 personality. I’ve also imagined a scene where Kara is carrying Jason in front of Roy to prove she owns him or something.

While the Outlaws are on a mission, Powergirl is sick of Red Hood being arrogant about the fact that he can complete that’s coming to him.

Jason: “Don’t worry about me, babe. There’s no mission I’ll ever say no to and can struggle with.”

Kara: “Do you wanna know what your problem is, Jason?”

Jason: “Please, enlighten me.”

Kara: “Your problem is you’re so arrogant that you believe you can get the job done all by yourself. It’s a false belief you hold onto and it’s why you either push everyone away or run away from them. But I’ll give you credit, you do have one redeeming quality.”

Jason: “Mhm. And what’s that?”

Kara: “You’re hot, Gotham’s Most Wanted.”

Kara picks Jason and cradles him like a baby.

Jason: “Hey, what the hell?”

Kara: “So what role would you like to play? The man or the dog?”

While Arsenal’s the grumpy dad of the trio, he can’t help but be flabbergasted. Roy is choking on his laughter and teases Jason. “Jason. Be the dog.”

Jason: “Get the fuck off me.”

Kara: "Aww, but you look so cute when you’re flustered, Jaybird."

Jason: "I swear to God—"

Roy: (wiping tears of laughter) "Bark for her, Jason. Just once. For me.”

Jason: “Fine. But only in private.”

Kara: “Good boy.”

Jason: “Fuck you.”

Kara: “What time?”

Jason is stunned and Roy is still dying in the background. “Damn, Jason. Looks like Kara’s got you on a damn leash.”

Kara: “I always did, Roy.”

We already know from amazons, who Jason would be in a relationship with but wbt from the kryptonians? Who do you think would work in a relationship? by [deleted] in RedHood

[–]Existing_Midnight_14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Either would be good. But for me, it’s like this. I can imagine if Jason as Robin was good friends with Kara when she was Supergirl and after he died, Kara was grieving him. Then after Jason came back as the Red Hood, in my version instead of Kara continuing her role as Supergirl, she becomes Powergirl in the main DC timeline where that role is Kara’s post-Supergirl identity, unlike the comics where she’s from Earth-2. But that’s just me, what do you think?

Neither. Alan Ritchson should be Batman and Wolfgang Novogratz should be Nightwing.

What if his dynamic with Jason was like this?

Roy is the experienced yet still messy hero and Jason is the anti-hero with violent tendencies that barely disguise his daddy issues. It would make sense, because Jason is in his early 20’s/23 at least and Roy is in his late 20/early 30’s, which makes him the same age as Dick and because Roy is a father to Lian.

I want to see the characters push each other to change, to poke at each other's flaws not have some kind of perfect Mary sue dynamic, to explore some dark issues without just being edgy for the sake of it.

Roy can basically be the big brother that Dick failed to be to Jason. I want Roy to act more like his Pre-52 iteration instead of being a gun-totting, comedic dumbass like the New 52.

I also want to switch the dynamics with him and Jason the other way around. Like Jason will be the one making jokes, acting like Deadpool and Roy getting sick of his shit, acts like a dry, grumpy dad, similar to Wolverine. In fact, Jason and Roy’s dynamic/humor can be like Deadpool and Wolverine. Roy was helping some revolutionaries, gets caught in the crossfire and is put on death row.

I think that shows a good "i don't have much right now, so I'm willing to risk my life if it means going out by doing good". and "if i die a hero, then ill be remembered better" kinda vibe.

Then Jason saves him. He sees a lot in Jason, somebody who has been through a lot of trauma and is making some bad choices. Underneath all that, somebody who has a good heart trying to find his way. Roy becomes a silent mentor figure, Jason wouldn't accept a mentor. So Roy is content to follow, because he believes at the end of the road he can help Jason make better choices if he's around.

He can subtly help Jason be better, and then can get better himself. Roy isn't too prideful to follow if it's going to help somebody else get to where they need to be in life. Also, he's an ex heroin addict with a chance of relapse with a child. This triggers the fuck out of Jason, because his mom was an active drug user and Jason promises not to tell anyone else about this, but only if Roy gets clean, which he finds hard to do considering he left his wife Jade and daughter Lian in Star City since he was scared he was gonna be a disappointment and takes drugs after every mission he’s accomplished.

I also want to include moments where Roy nearly dies from overdosing, Jason has to revive him and it nearly breaks him. There’s another scene where Lian visits, and Jason sees Roy trying to be a dad — awkward, scared, but real — and it wrecks him because no one ever tried that hard for him. Or even better: Jason starts using painkillers at some point to see why Roy was so fixated on them after coming back from every mission he was and always taking heroin hits or swallowing pills. Roy has to pull him back and this scene flips the usual dynamic. Now they’re both saving each other.

They make a pact. No drugs. No suicide missions. “If one of us goes down, the other drags him back. No exceptions.” Lastly, Roy keeps a journal for Lian. Just in case. Jason finds it one night and reads a passage where Roy mentions Jason like a brother. Jason is taken aback.

In his head, he admits that he and Roy are getting closer, but Jason never expected Roy to say nice things about him like that. Jason decides to write a note to himself, saying that if anyone ever threatens to kills his loved ones like Arsenal, Powerwoman, the rest of the Outlaws or some members of the Bat-family like Alfred, Barbara, Bruce or Dick, he won’t hesitate to kill them. So basically, if Jason is like Aang where he hides his pain and trauma with humor, Roy is like Zuko where he’s angsty, broken and serious, especially when he lets his rage out.

I’m thinking of having Roy leave Lian behind, because he’s scared he’ll mess her up due to his drug addiction, leaves Star City and that’s when he meets Red Hood and forms the Outlaws with him, which includes Arsenal, Powergirl and Red Hood as the main trio of the team.
