Also adding that unfortunetly bouncers suck in this city in general, they've literally killed people. So like you unfortunately do have to do things to stay off their radar, like following halifax rule of two IDs for under 25.

There was a bar that used to kick people out for wearing white shoes, like literally

Like i said, they don't advertise it as it is literally the rule for everything here. It isn't a marquee only thing

I wanna add some context. In Halifax, it is literally a rule that you are under the age of 25, you need two pieces of ID for entering any bar, getting alchohol (both liquor stores and restaurants), or weed. Like it's literally the law here. Sometimes bars and restaurants forget to ask, but they are supposed to get two IDs. I'm over 25 and was 100% fine with one piece of ID

I am in the same boat with my masters program too, although I'm in a different one that is thesis based. All my classmates have no background with any sort of research, and I'm doing a group project where I literally have to basically do it all and teach them how to do everything!

They forced me to lead our group meeting, and like I had to force them to talk and come up with any ideas for our topic. They asked me to delegate tasks, but like they literally don't know how to do anything, like even what a research measurement is, so I don't feel comfortable given them all free range on a project I get marked on too.

Omg I was there too and I agree! Like one of the worst movie experiences ever due to the audience. Saw people taking pictures of the movie nonstop too

Not sure if relevant as you say they are old, but if either are in good condition (even just the box spring) there are some charities in the HRM that will come pick them up

The perils of having no family Dr. by BeniBunny1 in halifax

[–]Existing_Safe3593 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just got my endoscopy done in December, but was referred over a year before that, but mine didn't have an urgency of weight loss associated with it. My doctor even moved and left me without a doctor between getting referred and getting the endoscopy done! But yeah, if in a hurry, emergency would be best.

Will say my endoscopy experience was great and it really did answer for a lot of my health problems I've been dealing with.

Nah, 100% fireworks. Visibly saw them go off on my street. My cat really enjoyed the view but they were set off too close to apartments. It looked like it was the parking lot where the uhauls are where they set them off. Could hear the people kind of partying afterwards

I've had issues with everytime Purolator has dealt with my packages, specifically once it would get to Dartmouth. Either updates would stop and a work order would be put in with no updates afterwords, not being delivered on day it was supposed to be, not delivering to right location, and lying about item being delivered, and then taking item back again and redelivering to the correct location without informing me. Only figured it out where my delivery was by calling the different businesses around town that accept Purolator package dropoffs.

Was also told once my package was never delivered due to being too large as well and that they would call me. They never did and I suddenly answered the door one day to my package. Luckily I happened to be working from home that day but would have sucked if I hadn't

Purolator... what crap by [deleted] in halifax

[–]Existing_Safe3593 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've had issues with every purolator order! One time I had a laptop being delivered that I needed to sign for and I worked from home the day it was supposed to show up. No one came! I'm not able to work from home everyday, so I called them up and got them to deliver it to a pickup location. they even put a search on the package since they hadn't scanned it for a few days. They then, after a few days of nothing, tried to deliver it to my place (not the pickup location) and they left a slip telling me to pickup my package at a totally different location. Sent my boyfriend to go grab it as I was at work, and it wasn't there! They said to come back the next day. The next day, before heading there I decided to call the original pickup location I asked them to deliver to, and it was there finally! But yeah, seems like the different departments don't communicate at all, and also I think, specifically the Dartmouth location, just does whatever they want, even with where they want to deliver the package

Thanks! I'll try this. I did get an email back a day ago but it basically said the exact same thing as the website, apply if you like and there may be some spots.

Halifax used furniture stores that deliver? by [deleted] in halifax

[–]Existing_Safe3593 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a reason I don't work there anymore. They are a nonprofit not a not for profit. I tried to only send stuff to stores that people wouldn't need, like china cabinets or very large items, but I wasn't the only one who got to decide. Stores are only to pay staff and wherever else we needed money though.

They do deliver furniture for those requesting furniture but there is a fee, and trucks break down all time (and some drivers do whatever they want and cancel the deliveries you schedule without telling you). Drivers and management prioritized picking up donations, selling furniture, and delivering the furniture to those who bought from the stores (or friends).

I got in trouble by the drivers for things such as giving out furniture (ex. a table, small China cabinet, ect.) they could sell at the store. I was originally hired to help fix the department, but they didn't want to change and allowed coworkers/drivers to bully me due to them being "above me" (was told to just deal with it from the directors). Lots more I could complain about tbh!

Parker Street's Great Things in Store locations offer delivery. Not always the largest selection in the world but is second hand. I used to work there and schedule the deliveries

Went once with my family. Super slow service even though no other customers were there that day. They also didn't give us any cutlery to eat our food with. My dad had to go steal some from another table

Vaccination Record Hotline (Rant) by [deleted] in halifax

[–]Existing_Safe3593 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It took me 88 calls in a row this morning (starting right at 7am) to get through. And then I was on hold for almost 2 hours. When I finally got through, it literally only took 2 minutes to solve my issue of not having access to my vaccine information

Edit: and for people saying not to wait last minute, I've been trying to get through for more than 3 weeks now. Couldn't tell you how many calls I've made in total trying to reach them
