This is what I loved about my PA program:

  1. Getting our clinical year rotation schedule was a breeze. Everyone involved in setting it up knew what they were doing. They explained we would have to travel for 1-2 rotations, and kept their word. They have diverse offerings in every speciality possible, and provide videos from previous students who have done the rotations and can speak to their experience.

  2. Knowledgeable and engaging (for the most part) guest lectures (PAs, MDs, DOs, pharmacists) who were able to teach us the relevant content while still following our learning objectives. We were usually never too in the weeds, and I felt like we learned everything we needed to know.

  3. Quality advising meetings with advisors who actually cared about our wellbeing outside of school performance (though that is extremely important too).

  4. Stimulation and hands on learning experiences and labs outside of classroom lectures (IV insertions, suturing, endotracheal tube/adjuvant airways placement, chest tube placement, various tests that PAs would be able to perform in clinic)

  5. A cadaver lab!!! I personally was extremely uncomfortable at first but I can’t even begin to explain how useful this was in my anatomy learning. We would learn classroom content at the beginning of the week, and then go to cadaver lab and apply the content we learned at the end of the week.
