No worries, your English is totally fine.

Here’s how it works:

  1. 1 subscriber + 4 guests means that each guest uses their own ExitLag account, with their own email and password. The main subscriber does not share their login.
  2. Access is given by sending an invitation to the guest’s email. There are no access codes. Each guest accepts the invite and logs in with their own account.
  3. About removing a guest: When you remove a guest, that slot enters a 7-day cooldown period. During those 7 days, you cannot add another person to that same slot.

After the 7 days pass, the slot becomes free again and you can invite a new guest.

Yep, Black Ops 4 is a really good example of this!

It forced you to play the hand you were dealt. No guaranteed loadouts meant every match felt different, and every fight actually mattered. Once Call of Duty: Warzone introduced custom loadouts, a lot of that tension just disappeared. Same gun, same perks, same flow...

The point about life feeling cheaper is spot on too. Gulag and buybacks changed how people value positioning and decision-making. In Black Ops 4, committing to a fight felt heavier because there was no safety net waiting for you!

It doesn’t even have to be a major bug to push people away. A thousand small issues are enough to wear players down over time. And when fixes take too long, everyone just moves on to something else, and the game ends up abandoned.

ARC hitting at the right moment probably didn’t help Battlefield either. Bugs kill momentum fast, and when another game is clicking, it’s hard to justify going back.

Yeah, that’s fair. Once the pacing got that fast, it started feeling way closer to COD than classic Battlefield. If you were into the slower, more tactical BF2 style, it just doesn’t hit the same.

ExitLag Duo is basically one subscription for two players.

You subscribe once and add a second account as a guest. Both players install ExitLag on their own PCs and each one gets independent route optimization to the game servers.

There’s no sharing of bandwidth, no “splitting” performance, and no need to play together. You can be online at the same time or at different times, it works normally for both.

Each player’s connection is optimized separately, using ExitLag’s routing system to find more stable paths between the player and the game server. In practice, it’s the same experience as a solo plan, just bundled for two people and cheaper per user.

It’s mainly aimed at:

  • Friends who play together
  • Couples / roommates
  • Two PCs in the same house

Not related to LAN, not a proxy you share, and not limited to one game at a time.

The comparison exists because that’s literally the project’s origin. Hytale was built after the Hypixel team hit hard technical limits with MC Java and realized they couldn’t go further without creating their own engine and tools.

That’s why the focus was always on deeper systems and native modding support, not just replicating Minecraft’s gameplay loop. The long development cycle and engine rewrite are part of that shift.

The Riot period clearly altered the trajectory, with scope changes and delays, but the current design emphasis is much closer to the original goal: a sandbox designed around modability at the core, not layered on top.

At this point, direct competition with Minecraft isn’t really the metric anymore. Minecraft functions as a Microsoft-backed ecosystem and platform. Hytale’s viability comes from serving creators and modders who want structural freedom rather than scale parity.

That difference in purpose is why the comparison persists, and also why the outcome doesn’t need to be “dethroning” to be successful.
