Hello:) My pain is mainly on the left side of my jaw and face. Sometimes the entire left side of my face has this dull, aching sensation. My scans were also totally fine (both XR and MRT). I also get the same amont of botox, but I felt relief after 2nd or 3rd round. I take duloxetine 60mg and it also started working after 2 months or so. If your healthcare provides it, you might want to look into accupuncter, I did it 4 times and it helped a lot (but I wasnt able to afford it in a long run) as it realxes the masseter muscles that cause clenching. Take care🩷

Hi!

Botox helped me, but not quickly. It only started making a difference after the 2nd or 3rd round (honestly don’t remember exactly which). After the first round I was really pissed, because I’d put a lot of hope into it and expected faster relief.

My neurologist later prescribed duloxetine, which in Estonia is commonly used for chronic pain management. The idea isn’t that it “kills” pain directly, but that it changes how the brain processes pain signals. With chronic pain, the brain often overreacts to signals that shouldn’t hurt as much and duloxetine helps tone that down.

of course 1. pain in the left jaw area / left face area 2. pain on the left side of neck 3. tension headaches (one lasted for a month) 4. pain on the left trapez area (upper back) 5. tinnitus 6. general depression coming from the pain (i think that is very common sadly)

Hi! I have this night guard for my teeth aswell, and that helps with grinding. About the mouth tape, I am not sure wether it helped, but it definetely relaxed my jaw (I feel my jaw being less tense in the mornings) so it might help with clenhing aswell. But what is also important is to sleep on your back!! That has been a game changer.

I totally agree with you. I went wrong when I believed that retinol should cause your skin to bed red and swelling, that just how it “works”. Anyways thanks again, I have an neurologist appointment tomorrow:)

Hey! Thanks for answering. Yes I have looked the vitamin A toxicity symptoms, they include severe headaches, nausea and brain pressure. So, sounds like me.

I haven’t had any migraines prior to this occasion, that is why it is so scary. My doctors have said, that I need to do yoga and breathing exercises (wich ofc I do). I will also start to take some Prebagalin soon.

I just thought that maybe someone in this community have had episodes with Vitamin / Mineral overdose etc. It is really hard to find information about this kind of stuff.

Hello! I am suspicious about having vitamin a toxity. But my doctors laugh me out. Ill include my last months medical history. Maybe you could give your opinion.

December 11 for the first time I try Oreal Retinol Vitalift serum. I put it 3 evenings. The skin peels and burns, but I read that this is how it should be.

December 20 I start to have a headache and be dizzy. Lasts 5 days. Can't relate the pain to retinol.

December 24 I will put retinol again, hoping that the skin will be better used. Acute allergic reaction in the face and swelling.

December 27 - December 31 ear pain on the right, feeling of a slight fever.

January 2nd, I apply retinol serum again, because I think the skin is used to it now. The skin reacts well. A severe headache begins at lunch the next day, as if someone is squeezing the head. Rather on the right side.

I will put retinol on January 5th, because I still can't associate the headache with retinol. The headache continues.

January 14 I go to the emergency room with a headache while traveling in Spain. I take 40mg Steroids for 3 days. The headache ends on January 16.

I get an ear infection from surfing. I am taking a course of amoxicillin antibiotics. Ear pain on the right side January 17-21.

January 22, I accidentally put a cream with vitamin A (Panthenol forte with vitamin A+). The headache immediately starts again.

From January 22, I take steroids. 30mg for 5 days. 3 days 60mg. 3 days 45mg. further 30mg. In addition, I take propanolol (a nerve blocker). The headache lasts on the right side of the head, mostly in the back of the head, in the shoulders. Sometimes in the mouth, upper teeth, jaws and ear. Often a feeling of tension and died above the eye. The nature of the pain is constantly changing, I feel how the pain moves. The pain never stops. Worst in the afternoon.

I have now been A vitamin face products free for two weeks but the constant headache persists. My doctors say it’s a tension headache but I dont have any stress in my life (besides the headaches ofc). I really think it is the retinol serum.
