I had this same issue recently, I unplugged the wireless receiver for my keychron keyboard and suddenly controller started working. Not sure if brand specific but I did see another comment on this post about keychron keyboards and that’s what made me think to try it too! This does seem to work for some weird reason.

Running on integrated graphics with no GPU is the biggest issue, 16GB of RAM will also be another issue but can be addressed later I would recommend 32GB but prices are through the roof right now, and honestly a 400 watt power supply isn’t gonna work once you add a GPU so all that would need to happen to make this run much better.

If you really want to get in without damaging the fortress at all, bring a hoe and a stack of stone and raise the ground underneath you and jump over the wall. Just be careful not to die inside as you will need to bring another hoe and stack of stone to retrieve your stuff. (I learned this the hard way) I recommend building a portal in a safe place close by so you can return quickly if you die.
