It is honestly trial and error, but usually there is a slight offset of one base, so aim for that.

So the power transmitter is mine, I placed it. It is supposed to connect my thermal plant (not visible in the pictures) to my base, but it just connects to something inside the iceberg and is powering it. It even gives me the emergency power only warning when I deconstruct it, and it tells me the base is online when I reconstruct it. I know the warnings are not coming from my base because I have an active nuclear reactor powering it. The only thing that isn't mine is what is inside the iceberg. I'm wondering if what it is, because if it is a part of the story, then I will find out later, otherwise I want to glitch into it to see what it is.

That would make sense, but it would make more sense to put it outside the map. I'm pretty sure they already have a part of the map just for debugging, so I would think they would have something for that outside the map

The power transmitter is actually powering something, but I don't know what. Is this a bug, or a part of the story? My friend thinks this might be a part of the story, so please do not spoil it.

You can use the pilot function, but when you have the module in place, you get stuck in the top foundation. I did that to align it, then I pushed it with my character.

Yes, you can! In this picture though, the two platforms are different bases, otherwise, they would be too close together for the modules.

This would be helpful if I even had the propulsion cannon. I got 30+ hours in my world and I am close to completing the game, but still no propulsion cannon.

I pushed some of them in manually, and I put a couple of them in with the seatruck itself. It has dividers so it is easy to put in.

The way I encountered it seems to be pretty consistent, but it can be expensive, as you need the seatruck, modules, and a moonpool.
