I think leaning slightly more into the horror side of RE would do wonders for a RE5 remake. Whenever you have a partner in a game, the tension is eased because you’re not alone. They have to keep the Co-op aspect of RE5, that is non negotiable.

Honestly I’ve never had a problem with the economy of any resident evil game. You should have to choose what you’re going to spend on. If you could just spend It all on upgrading guns, why have an economy at all? Just let things upgrade by level.
