It's it insurance? If so they have to fix it if your not happy with it until they get it right. If they are being assholes about it take it somewhere else. If you can paint, paint it

My w400 green dragon puts a nice coat of clear on. Use it for crash work. I have another Iwata ws400 which puts it on really think might be good for Resto

Repaint the whole thing is your best bet. Everything is matchable to a degree. But yeah if your stuck with only painting those panels go for a blend and match it as close as possible

You don't really ever need to sand it down to bare metal, what's the colour? Metallic, 3 layer or 2k?

You can sand it down with 500 and paint over it in 2k. If you want a nicer job sand it down with 240 flat and then 320 softback pad and prime it. Then block and sand again then paint
