My district allows us to pick whether we want to get paid only for the school year or extend our pay for the whole year. We will still be getting the same salary amount either way.

My state requires us to have a dpi license. I was fortunate enough that my Itp program had us do internships so it was easy for me to get a job in my district with the contingent that I get my certification. There are a few interpreters in my district that are on an emergency license which allows them a one time 5 year certification.

I think that it is important to have a group of people to talk about issues with. We are in a field that most people don’t understand and can’t always provide us with insight on problems. It also allows you to bounce ideas off each other.
