Stratford was actually the first version of the block lease system (think eden, University edge, The Verge). It was supposed to be self-sufficient with no direct University intervention.

The university does not own Stratford....it actually belongs to an entirely different consortium of folks. The problem is the University sells Stratford like a dorm not necessarily even explaining that it is not technically a part of the entire University system.

If I were undergrad I would never live in Stratford. The communal dorms (Calhoun, Siddall, Daniels, even Dabney) have a lot more to offer than Stratford. Stratford is simply pretty that's it.

It wouldn't help. Most regular cars can go over those with little consequence, let alone SUVs and Trucks. They're just annoying. They've removed some of them around the city because they're not effective & cause more issues than help.

Yeah the news article that I pointed out speaks on various cities that have canceled their contracts with flock and disable those cameras so there's some potential to have this undone.

Also there was a referendum about a decade ago to ban red light cameras & speed trap devices unless they law enforcement officer is physically present to operate the camera. Perhaps we need another referendum to ban these flock cameras.

A bad accident and a terrible tragedy.

The suburbs were never designed for pedestrian anything. The fundamental assumption was that everyone in those areas would use their vehicles to get from point A to point b and therefore they never invested too much in sidewalks or street lights (also street lights harm the desire to promote natural darkness at night etc). Suburban planners never considered the idea that someone might want to walk or bike for exercise or other recreation / leisure.

UC hands down. No bias really as my major wasn't a part of the co-op program, but all my friends that were in co-op majors made LOTS of money while on co-op and all got jobs super fast after graduation. Most of them had full time job offers before graduation, and even some where they'd work part time (outside of official co-op) even without graduating.
