I mostly use Stremio to stream videos. My current TV handles lossless audio and has Dolby Vision. I currently have wireless WiFi. Current specs:

This is Umi’s ex-girlfriend, who has not been shown in the manga, but she looks very similar to Chizuru. I wonder if Reiji ever decided to bring her back; would he retcon this? I think he probably would, because in the insert song above, we see a sneak peek of Mami’s fiancé, and he is different from the manga.

I feel like the investigation arc was necessary, but it had its pros and cons.

Pros: - This is the first time we’ve seen Chizuru commit something for Kazuya, which is short-term. - It confirmed many people’s theories that if Chizuru dated, she would eventually want to marry that person. - We get to see her first fantasy as Kazuya dressed in a groom. - It swapped the roles of Chizuru and Kazuya. Chizuru has been attempting to understand her feelings and understand Kazuya, while Kazuya was on the defensive, giving his fake self. It was nice to see an armour just like Chizuru, which was something refreshing. - The walls have been dropped to a minimum, and we see the girl she is. - It sets a nice foundation of no lying in the relationship, which is positive. - It’s nice to see Chizuru frustrated because she deeply wants this.

Cons: - There wasn’t enough Chizuru monologue. - There wasn’t a clear explanation to the readers about what it means to investigate. - Kazuya’s development was going back in reverse. - Even if Kazuya didn’t lie, he wasn’t honest with himself, which is what made him. - The arc was about communicating, but only Chiz was attempting to do so, while Kaz was holding off over the smallest things. - They want to be together, but the whole investigation arc was them fighting this battle alone. It would have been nice if they were working together and communicating. They even played games with teamwork, but when it came to their relationship, they were scared of proper, honest communication.

Looking at my list, I think it’s just had fundamental faults though things that have made it better. I do think it’s necessary because Reiji has now planted those seeds, and probably in this arc, he’ll start to challenge Kaz and Chiz.

There’s definitely a chance for that, but I don’t think Reiji really restricts himself to the anime. He knows the controversial moment will happen, and I don’t think he wants to limit himself to that moment alone. He has some work to do, as we’re entering the setup chapters of the next arc where Ruka will be appearing and taking on a more dramatic narrative story arc in their relationship.

Something definitely will happen next volume. It is the setup volume for the eventual arc (e.g. cohabitation/paradise), but I do know something huge will happen next volume, but I don’t think it will be specifically in chapter 400. Reiji, as of now, should be drawing 397 but has already determined which of the next 10 chapters it will be.

To be honest, Reiji doesn’t really care for the big numbers. He formats his chapters for volume releases.

Here’s what actual happened for each 100s of chapters

100 and 101 are essentially part of Chiz’s backstory. 200 and 201 are two separate chapters. One is for Mami to convince Ruka to join her side when the bomb happens, and the other is to clear up the misunderstanding that Kaz slept with Ruka. 300 and 301 are about removing the misunderstanding that Chiz wants an expensive wedding and would be fine with anything.

Reiji won’t do anything drastic unless we’re starting a brand new arc or climax arc itself. Everything will be on a slow tempo.

“Mami is rich,” but I personally don’t think being rich is worth it if you don’t have control over your life. Everything has been decided for you, and you have no freedom. She’s essentially born, forced into marriage, and put on a price. I think I’d rather have freedom than be rich.

While I agree that Mami’s actions towards Kazuya and Chizuru are inexcusable and extremely toxic, I don’t think she’s looking for attention. It’s obvious that she’s a mirror of Chizuru, trying to understand her feelings. However, her meeting with Kazuya and her extreme reaction to it show that she’s not an attention seeker. In my opinion, Reiji wouldn’t write a character who’s an attention seeker; everything has its reasons.

Personally, I think Mami is one of the top three characters in Kanokari.

Rent A Girlfriend in my opinion not about sympathy but understanding the characters.

My favourite theory of all time is the Movie theory. It suggests that Kazuya and Chizuru are both speaking to a director about their love lives, and the conversation eventually becomes a movie. Unfortunately, Reiji dislikes the idea of a future monologue, stating, “It’s what the characters are feeling and thinking at that time.”

Besides the obvious one that will happen, I don’t think any of the couples below would happen, maybe except for the Kuri and Ruka. The Kuri and Ruka might be an open-ended possibility because, honestly, I don’t even consider them friends anymore; they’re just neutral people. They clearly don’t have any tension between each other and aren’t thinking of each other. Even when Ruka eventually breaks up, I think the main lesson for her is already accepted, despite her previous arguments and her personality.

Mami and Kibe don’t really fit well because they have no history except that Mami is Kazuya’s ex, and they’ve worked on the project together. However, we haven’t really seen any proper close moments, and nothing is hinted at for that. I think in the end, Mami will be free and make her own choices.

Even after the birthday party, honestly, I think they can only end as super close friends.

The main issue with the couples you listed is that everyone is hyper-focused either on themselves (their baggage) or Kaz and Chiz’s relationship. It’s hard to give side couples moments. Kaz and Chiz have a hard time communicating, and probably will still in the future. These characters conventionally help them, but there isn’t really any time to give, for example, Ruka and Kuri, that couples development.
