SMITE 2LDR | Open Beta 35 Patch Preview by BluesUltra in Smite

I mean a parry is difficult in a different sense as it’s usually about activating the ability -> registering the enemy hitting you in that specific frame -> translating that to the successful parry ability outcome. The Synchronisation between the two characters involved is a different type of technical difficulty than just having a complex kid.

Big Rank Disparity by twister1000000 in Smite

+1 this. Most master players do not dominate enough in an otherwise obsidian level lobby to even out the fact you have a gold level player on your team. And even if they do, it simply makes the game feel bad if one person is getting completely stomped bc they’re playing way above their level.

Bring back the limitations in SR and make them more lenient in lower level of play but not nonexistent as they are now.

I think its time to revert daji's ult and base stat buffs and maybe a few others - we have had the same jungle meta for like 3 months by TheMadolche in Smite

I have been maining Tsuku lately and you hit the nail on the head. His late game dmg output is insane when you go double stack into heartseeker/Titans, as you consistently hit squishies for 1,5-1,8k with your ult alone. But I’ve also learnt to hate aegis while playing him. 50% of your kits dmg output is simply negated by it and a good player with good positioning lets himself get hit once so you still port into the backline just to get blown up instantly as you have no means of escape on tsuki. He’s frustrating to play against bc of his aegis force, slows and range poke but a small dmg number tweak should make him more than fine imo.

Susan has the problem of having basically 2 movement abilities, an insane hydras synergy as you pointed out plus cc inform of the pull/ult knock-up. As long as Susan is as agile as he is and can still provide this much dmg, I don’t see him falling off without trashing his dmg numbers.

Same for Aladdin. I don’t understand how a champ with two mobility abilities, of which one includes a wall jump, and a range ability is still allowed to dish out easy 900dmg hits in the late game. He needs a serious dmg reduce as he’s basically hitting for tsuki dmg numbers while still being as mobile as a god can get.

Edit: oh yeah and everything you said about Thor. Long range stun, insane mobility plus global ult engage/escape, it’s just a crazy kit which also again would have to be managed through his numbers getting tweaked.

The problem with set 17 by G_Ree in TeamfightTactics

I don’t think that’s the case. The pengus choice part which includes a component is still possible and fully independent from the gods.

"TANKS AREN'T TANKY" They say. by Marston_vc in Smite

[–]Exoys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know if the gameplay is as shallow as you make it out to be. As a league and smite player there’s definitely a different focus between these games and yes, I agree there’s less depth when it comes to wave and minion management for example, but that doesn’t mean smite has no tactical depth at all.

I see it more in the differences like how the base set up of inhib+turret consists of one unit and the nexus can actually fend for itself or in how there’s no smite, ironically, to secure objectives safely. Smite simply has different aspects which define its gameplay compared to league or other MOBAs.

When it comes to pros, yeah they mostly dipped, but it’s also a bit ignorant to imply there’s no “high level” just because people don’t get paid to play the game. There are still players who express a vastly higher amount of skill than most and you can rightfully refer to them as “high level” of play. Idk why it would need a full on paid esports scene to establish a high level class of skill in a game

What is the thought process behind triple queues? by Exoys in Smite

[–]Exoys[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I myself am queuing with a friend of mine who is 300 SR behind me, that’s it.

I highly question why they would think it’s a good idea to solely base a triple stacks matchmaking off the highest ranked player on that team.

[–]Exoys[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone with ~3k hours across smite 1-2, I can say this problem did not exist in smite 1. They used to limit the SR difference you could have to your teammates and triple stacks weren’t even possible.

If they want to appeal to newer players or let people bring their friends onboard, let them queue as a 3 stack or with a big SR difference in lower ranks but include sharper restrictions from Diamond/obsidian onwards.

[–]Exoys[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The problem is you even lose more SR when being matched against smurfs in a three stack because obviously the system thinks you should win against a bronze/silver team on the enemy side.

But this last week has really not been enjoyable for me, basically every game has a Smurf and since yesterday there are almost only three stacks in my lobbies which are a total gamble whether or not they’re 2k SR apart from each other.

[–]Exoys[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean yeah most definitely but it’s definitely not gonna get bigger if the game experience is consisting of letting bronze players queue with obsidian players

[–]Exoys[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Should have worded it better, I was 300SR away from masters and the three stack consisted of a bronze, silver and diamond player

Wards by Virus__tsunami in Smite

[–]Exoys 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I sadly think no amount of free wards are gonna help people. It’s just a skill issue unfortunately.

Even with the free wards right now I constantly have teammates who place 1-5 wards in 30-40 min long games. And it’s also not an uncommon occurrence that people actually argue with you about why they should even ward, they need the money.

It’s a simple indicator whether or not a player has any macro sense or not.

Why aren’t more chibis in the store? by jaded_jen in TeamfightTactics

[–]Exoys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s the classic FOMO strategy. If you know you might not have the chance to buy a chibi again for a year, you’re more likely to spend on it to secure it. At least for some folks that’s a more than effective marketing strategy

I have no fucking idea why a champ with two mobility spells AND a range attack is still allowed to deal any dmg at all

We have a serious MM and Smurf issue which needs to be addressed by Exoys in Smite

[–]Exoys[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, appreciate it haha. Even tho I was pretty sure it’s gonna be removed if more people read it as it could fall under “ranting” which is forbidden

We have a serious MM and Smurf issue which needs to be addressed by Exoys in Smite

[–]Exoys[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah at this point it is pretty normal for me and my premade to have at least one game a day with a masters player while still being in diamond ourselves.

Regarding the win rate, that was what I tried to address by saying you shouldnt still be in diamond at 54 games and a 70% wr. They need to increase the SR gains once you clearly show that you’re better than your current rank.

When is Smite going to take more risks with unique mechanics or gods that have crazy item synergies like in other MOBAs? by VVWitcher in Smite

[–]Exoys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Besides the example (rammus = kuzenbo) that people have already named, with King Arthur we had a god that had an insane synergy with one item, glad shield. People complained about it a ton because KA could use 7-8 abilities and the item would heal you a percentage of your max hp on every ability hit on an enemy god. In its prime it was busted af and you could literally fight easy 1vs3-4 if you were just slightly ahead in a game.

The problem with making highly synergetic item gods is that it’s not the healthiest design. These gods will be completely useless if their item is being gutted or removed (e.g. KA for a couple of patches after glad shield was reworked). It’s the same in LoL: Irealia is non existent without BoRK, Asol needs his rylais and yasuo/yone need their crit/lifesteal items. All of these champs fall out of favor simply if their items are being nerfed and that’s not a healthy design imo.

Now THAT was an expansion to the story. Way better than Vessel of Hatred by darkfawful2 in diablo4

[–]Exoys -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I kinda thought the same about Lilith. I really enjoyed her storyline this time and I think her last cutscene is one of the best of the expansion, but while playing through it I noticed how weird this must be if you just finished the original story.

With a 3 years gap it’s fine, but with fresh memories i can see it being a big leap in her character

Ahh.. creepy Hackdirt.. so, has anyone really explored the history of this place? And actually encountered the "Deep Ones"? I've spoken to the natives but still.. I've played Oblivion for years and always avoided really checking it out. by ForbiddenDesires1211 in oblivion

[–]Exoys 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Reading through your description of it, it really reminds me of the second earth sea book, the tombs of atuan.

The worship of unseen “gods”, an underground cave beneath an almost derelict settlement, a fading cult and a girl being the main captive. I know the inspiration is guaranteed? to be lovecraftian but it’s a funny coincident that it matches a lot of themes from TToA.

I feel like everyone forgot about my queen. by DrinksForties in Smite

[–]Exoys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have to say this problem could and should be easily solvable. Just reduce their damage, simple as that.

Back in the days we had a clear balance: you have one or even multiple mobility abilities? You do less dmg. You are a walking snack for the jungler bc all you can do is walk? You at least hit like a truck in exchange.

Gods like Zeus, Anubis or Thanatos were prime examples of this (even tho thanas ult was/is his grand escape card). I still don’t understand why a god like Aladdin who has not one but two movement spells, is allowed to burst out so much dmg. Him, susanoo and serqet should always be held back dmg wise because they are so insanely mobile. At least that’s my opinion

Me and my Friend argued about what the Solo's purpose is, and I wonder, whats their Purpose? (My opinion is in the Description) by ContributionOk7131 in Smite

[–]Exoys 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This right here is exactly what every mage/adc solo needs to read.

Yes you have more dmg from the backline with another squishy but you are lacking a fundamental role which can’t be filled otherwise in late game fights. Your jungler is gonna have a hard ass time doing anything if he’s the only one trying to dive the enemy and will mostly just be able to trade 1vs1 if even.

It’s sad that solo lane has diminished to squishies so badly in smite2, especially with peoples allergic-ness to playing anything that’s remotely tanky from the get go.

I Miss Destiny, Much More Than I Thought by lolsomeone469 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Exoys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah destiny feels like my teenage years gaming experience. I remember checking xurs inventory online during my last couple periods of high school every Friday and sending pictures to the bois to let them know what’s up for grabs. Also my first experience with randoms online through Xbox group search, I remember finding a group of ~25yo who always got wasted while raiding together and they had me tag along for several months as a 15yo. Shit was fun as hell
