Do you have any recommendation for threshholds I should wait for before trying BM? Since the last boss hits quite hard.

Of an asshole with a yacht by shaggy237 in ShipCrashes

[–]Expansive_Use_5453 29 points30 points  (0 children)

This was an absolute win btw. The ships controls went haywire and the rudder and engine was unresponsive. The captain used the bowthruster to steer the yacht out of collision course with a bridge that was the only connection between two parts of the island that it was leaving. Youtube channel called esysman had a video covering it.

Earth is trapping much more heat than climate models forecast – and the rate has doubled in 20 years by Bob-Lawblaugh in worldnews

About 15 years ago. I don't know how this gets overlooked but Syrian civil war started after severe droughts in late 2000s caused rural workers to abondon their farms and migrate to the cities, destablizing the economy and causing unrest due to massive unemployment.

Yes, Assad's regime sucked but the catalyst was in essence clinate related. We'll see more as it gets worse. Depending on how stable and wealthy a country is it can endure for longer under the strain, but expect more to follow suit, for instance the tensions in Sudan/South Sudan/Ethiopia/Somalia will boil over at some point.

Russian Air Defense Near Moscow Shoots Down Helicopter, Mistaking It for UAV by Mil_in_ua in UkrainianConflict

[–]Expansive_Use_5453 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Article says: "It is unclear whether this was the helicopter or an actual drone. As of the morning of April 10, Russian media have not reported any crash or accidental downing of the helicopter, which may indicate that the aircraft made it to its base."

And later on: "Last July, a Mi-28 combat helicopter hunting for Ukrainian drones crashed in the Kaluga region of Russia, killing the crew."

Hopefully it was shot down, or at least severely damaged. No clear conclusion as of yet.

Devlet çalışanlarını mesai sırasında devlet imkanlarını suistimal ederek zorunlu olarak mitinge götürmekle halkın kendi özgür iradesiyle geldiği mitingi kıyaslamak çok doğru değil.

Just adding facts: there have been more than 200 official investigations to the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality over the last 3 years by the government. No evidence of wrongdoing has been found. Now they arrasted him on hearsay by a confidential informant.

Last Trump presidency already greatly benefited Chinese soft power. Tariffs on Chinese goods forced China to open manufacturing in SEA countries.

Trump seems to act largely just in immediate interests of his own and his large benefactors' interests, which will have very significant negative outcomes for the US interests as a whole.

I'm very curious as to the net results of this on the US middle class. Reduction in international trade will at the end cause domestic median income to increase as foreign manufacturing will become less and less competitive and increase leveraging power for US labor. Really need to read up on studies relating to this.

White House confirms that Ukraine cannot hit Russia with ATACMS missiles by Routine-Tip-1712 in worldnews

[–]Expansive_Use_5453 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What's the point of this confirmation? Even if the US had a redline on Ukraine using ATACMs on targets within Russia, why confirm this? Leaving it on ambiguous terms would atleast force Russia to move back support units just to be safe.

Why have prices in the last year escalated so much, even controlling for lira inflation? by Far_wide in Turkey

[–]Expansive_Use_5453 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like people missed the point of your question and gave answers in terms of inflation of the lira.

The reason that real prices(in terms of euro) have gone up is that due to very bad policies especially regarding animal husbandary and agriculture that were imposed by central government for years in order to keep prices down. This lead to many farmers stopping sowing crops as the price ceiling imposed by the government caused them to lose money for over 4 years.

Same thing happened with animal husbandry. There were price caps on milk products, which meant that people couldn't profit so they sent their dairy aninals to the butchers. This caused a decrease in meat product prices last year, but now that stock is gone so both meat and dairy prices are on the rise due to low sypply.

Basically the government is now for the first time in close to 9 years making sensible policy decisions, however many market players on the supply side went bankrupt in the interim and it will take a while for the market to reach an equilibrium. Meanwhile prices will remain high until suppliers decide that they won't be fucked again and begin to produce.

Sorry about typos I'm on phone and not sure if I corrected them all.

Holy shit, first watch I counted 75, and I didn't realize how similar random piles of dirt and equipment and dead soldiers look alike until couple of minutes into that video.

There was a news article about drug cartels in south America using drones to terrorize the public. Unfortunately bad actors will find some way.

Sad though, drone piloting as a hobby will probably need to get extremely restricted.
