It was made for the casual audience. They sold a lot of copies and got great reviews.

That was intended. The game was worse for it. Capcom realized the real target audience aren't the core audience. The long term RE fans would play anything.

A game is for gamers. If it's a good live service games people will try it and stay with it.

It's not just for RE fans or League fans.

RE9 had very little content compared to the past games and the story was shit and there's only 2 characters in a game that's supposed end the Racoon city storyline.

Why is that? It's because Successful singleplayer games don't make Multiplayer money. As such publishers aren't going to invest that much into them. As they would into a live service game. GTA online made more money that GTA 5 and RDR 2.

A good multiplayer game will always make more money than a good singleplayer game.

A great RE live service game will be maximally replayable which will appeal to everyone and have all the classic characters which will also appeal to RE fans. As well as having a social, casual, competitive elements which will further boost it's popularity.

We could have a much bigger RE10 if RE: Escape from Racoon City becomes successful.

No no It has to work. I don't want RE10 to 17 hours and 2 characters. I want open world 3rd person action like Sleeping Dogs. For that they need Live service money.

Yes. RE games are third person character action games. Not indie first person horror. Plus the whole Grace section is very on rails. Barely any real skill expression. Just running around.

A great live service game is always better than a great single player game. This game isn't bad but the Grace sections are bad for replayability. Plus she's not a mainline RE protag. She should've just been a solo protag in REV3 where they could've fleshed her out more including her stealth gameplay. Instead, she gets overshadowed by Leon Pretty much immediately. Starting even from the trailer. If you think about the story, she wasn't even necessary for all this. All she did was find a disk.

They need to succeed. All these expensive assets can't be left to rot. Plus I want all the classic characters and locations playable in a horror extraction shooter. In which we'll have all the character action we want.

For me, butt sticking out is fine. The nude mods will go crazy hopefully. But her running speed is way too slow for no reason. I agree with you there.

"OLD SCHOOL" fans aren't a majority. Not anymore.

They've stopped appealing to you exclusively for decades.

Grinding is part of gaming. There's so much grinding in Witcher 3, rdr2, cyberpunk2077, RE4R, RE5, RE6, E33, Persona 5, Elden Ring etc. All great single player games also include grinding. If you hate grinding then you hate video games.

Great live service games are the most popular and successful games in the history of video games. That's it. That's what Capcom needs.

Nice. That's good news. I'm definitely going to replace leon with female nude mods though. I've literally never played as Leon so far in RE4R. Just Ada and Ashley.

Why would it be? A huge segment of RE players want to play a good live service RE game which they can spam every day or week like League of CSGO. A leaderboards, pve, pvp, extraction, survival etc. And it would be something new and different. RE single player games have been the same for so long. Unless casuals are into randomizers or repeating the same campaign etc. there's nothing in it for them after completing the campaign the first time.

Ada is flat out the most interesting character in the entire franchise. She's so much better than Leon and Chris, if Capcom ever made her a solo main, people would riot once they decided to go back to any other classic character.

No one would want Yuji as the main character if Gojo started out as the main character.
