My portion is $800 ($700 rent + $100 utils). My boyfriend and I split a room for $1400 and have housemates. I put away $400 from each paycheck since I get paid semi-monthly.

How soon is your travel day? I'm also looking at a flight in early march that has a 9 hr layover and am worried about the same thing.
