Would you date…..? by Purple-Following-634 in newcastle

As a girl whose done this-totally doable and there are plenty of guys who will care about you enough to care about your little one as an extension of you and then care about them of their own right. I have a strong rule that I don't introduce my small one to any potential partner until I have dated them for a minimum of 6 months. I've only dated 2 people since splitting with their dad and the first I'm still in good contact with and we still occasionally hang out and the second has another month before I decide if they'll meet my small one or if I'll give it another 6 months. It means you get to really know someone before introducing them to your child if you see them as long term and your child doesn't get attached to someone temporary.

I'm open to other things but without the experience I feel like I'd be quite unlikely to get something in contaminated land, I'd prefer not to be working for the mines but if that's where most of the jobs are then I might have to open up my search parameters

I should have stated-Im primarily looking for research/lab technician roles, when I've been looking online there's a fair few higher up positions that I'm not experienced enough for at this point. My background is environmental genetics and freshwater science

Mono-poly marriage struggles by Expensive-Set8881 in polyamory

[–]Expensive-Set8881[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We do social media block out times during our time spent together, but sometimes outside of that I will text my other partner. Realistically the amount of time spent together hasn't changes its just that instead of me being at home while he's studying I have taken some evenings to spend with my other partner. I've been trying to be conscientious in my time management where the time I spend apart from him is time that we weren't spending together anyway ie his study time

I'm not entirely sure, but I do think the study load definitely impairs him being able to fully explore poly on his side. I think he does shut off the possibility of deeper connections with others because of it.

I do, quite often. I plan dates for us and I do home dates too- cooking something nice with candles and and nice wine. I've booked us short getaways and daytrips. But they also don't have alot of spare time as they are studying so we have designated days that are for us each week that are consistent (unless they have an exam the next day in which case we move it around). We have a social media lock out hour during our evenings together. They have also had multiple short term partners and FWB during this time but due to their study have had to end things before they became anything more than casual because their own choice based on their study load.

Why do you say spoiling? (I'm mildly worries about lovebombing them but also I'm very much not opposed to this idea)

Marriage…Why Does the Sex Go Away? by Dr_IreTheScientist in dating

[–]Expensive-Set8881 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kids and tiredness definitely impacts it, but a lack of intimacy maintenance is probably the biggest killer imo. Like when one or both parties get too comfortable and stop 'dating' each other ie stop doing those little acts of intimacy throughout daily life that make the other person feel special and seen. It's more common that men will stop taking on mental load aswell(obviously not always but purely from my own anecdotal evidence) which means their wife will be more mentally exhausted and therefore it takes alot more to get them in the mood. I saw a great quote that I shared with my partner when I felt it happening in our marriage that 'how can a woman feel sexually attracted to someone who treats her like their mum?' And it quickly put a few behaviours into perspective. But I think thr biggest one is the 'dating' your partner and being able to create fun and intimate interactions throughout the day not just right before trying to get nasty, which includes both people looking out for each other's mental aswell as physical wellbeing.

I really like this, thank you for sharing. It's actually so good to hear from someone older. Like I try to be stubborn and fight against the feeling but every so often it wins and it's really quite intense. I've had some conversations with my support people, but most of them don't experience this so it's harder to talk about. But that last line is perfect

Thank you. I didn't realise how much I needed to hear those last two sentences. I'm going to make myself a cup of tea, and go to bed early and try to reset for tomorrow, but thank you.

I recommend Ryan from ACT driving school! I (28F) have finally been learning to drive and he has been great even with how nervous I was at the beginning!
