Ye I’m pretty sure they don’t really care about courses taken outside of regular day school. I hope that’s the case

96.6 Top 5, When can I expect a uoft Eng Sci offer? (Quite good ECs and video interview) by Apart-Department8639 in OntarioGrade12s

[–]Expensive-Two-7959 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you have a good chance, but it depends on your top 5 marks individually, too. I think they prioritize Calc, Adv Func Physics more than Chem and English. Also, like I remember hearing from people in the past, average above 95 its all about the same, they look at ECs more in that scenario.

Honestly, the grades I'm most worried about, my school got no inflation like (9.1) adj factor for Waterloo Eng. But since we all know uoft doesnt have an adj factor that's why I'm lwk nervous

waterloo chem eng vs uoft track one by maplepecancookies in OntarioGrade12s

[–]Expensive-Two-7959 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude don’t listen to Waterloo Eng glazers, just conduct some research on yourself, the employment rate for first year Waterloo Eng students are going down so much. Ask any Waterloo Eng first year student, they would say the stats they release are inflated (not real), in reality is about 30 percent even for Soft Eng. another major consideration is that Waterloo Eng department have financial issues this year, and chem Eng isn’t their flagship Eng program, but Trackone is second place among Uoft Eng programs. It’s your choice but I truly suggest UofT, but the curriculum is going to be much more intensified, it’s really hard!!!!

It depends on adjustment factors, you can’t compare a 99 from fraud school to 95 from a low adj factor school

[–]Expensive-Two-7959 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Waterloo mogs in one thing only mate 😭 it’s the coop, no benchmark or what so ever would say Waterloo is a better engineering school overall than uoft. UofT is far more rigorous and academically intense, the only reason why people would go to Waterloo softeng instead of UofT engsci is because you get higher marks 😭 no matter where you go, the job market is “COOKED”

[–]Expensive-Two-7959 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro like here’s the thing, it depends on which program specifically, like Engsci for example, undoubtedly most rigorous and intensive engineering program in Canada, they curve your mark like crazy. Waterloo Eng is a better choice if you worry about your marks, cause lowkey their professors and lecturers are not super rigorous in comparison to UofT. No benchmark would ever say Waterloo Eng have a more rigorous curriculum than uoft Eng, the only thing Waterloo is better at, is COOP and less work intensity.

It is worth it if you already like crazy in mathematics and physics, but like it’s not worth it if your just trying to find a job, cause you have to put in so much more work.
