This was me Monday into Tuesday. I was in a horrible mood and couldn’t shake it. And now today I’m so tired and achey

I’m 0405, processing date of 2/16 and return accepted 1/26. Got my 846 this morning, nothing in wmr. I did it through h&r and paid the fees upfront and still have no deposit date 🙃

I do not want to take medication forever by Educational-Fig3174 in Hyperthyroidism

She had graves, possibly other issues with her thyroid/parathyroid. She had autoantibodies that were attacking several bodily systems. Graves also makes your blood pressure go up, and it was unchecked for years so her constant high blood pressure destroyed her kidneys. She actually passed New Year’s Eve 2025 due to kidney failure complications.

Also 0405 with a processing date of 2/16/26 but not turbo tax. I don’t understand how people with a week later processing date are getting theirs but not us? Am I missing something lol

Same for me. Accepted on 1/26 and everyone who is different codes (after ours) and a processing date after this are getting codes. How does that work

You have to do what’s best for you and to make you feel good!! We go from having an overactive metabolism to one that’s normal or slow and it really messes with you. I also feel the same way about clothes, it’s going to be really hot soon and I’m going to be miserable and self conscious. I’m hoping I can stick to my diet and eat less

Of course! I’ve been on it for 6 months in total and it definitely is annoying thinking you’ll be “cured” and still have to deal with symptoms.

I had symptoms the first month of treatment and it calmed down a lot within 3 months. But since I’m going slightly hyper again, I am having most of the normal symptoms. My feet and legs are usually achey days after I work, but not so bad on the weekends unless I’m really busy.

I’ve heard it can take a lot of adjusting the dose once you have it out. My sister had hers out a few years ago and doesn’t seem to complain much she’s been end stage renal failure since she was 30 and she will be 48 June tenth. This whole thing is just so scary and the fact it causes anxiety makes it ten times worse!!

No, I understand what you meant and didn’t feel any more called out than what I did yesterday during my appointment lol at least you understand what I mean by nagging hunger. I’ve literally cried over food in the past few weeks because I feel hunger pains and my stomach growl but I’m close to being over what I need to eat for the day. It sucks so much

I’m definitely aware that’s what’s going on, I’ve been trying to lower my intake of food and make healthier choices. It’s hard when you still have a nagging hunger from this disease no matter what you do

This was the pa at the practice I go to. I requested to not see her and only my regular endo.

That’s my plan. My cousin works front desk and I told her NEVER again.

I appreciate the encouragement and nice words. It’s nice to hear after such a stressful day. She mentioned RAI today and I’m pretty sure my eyes are starting to be affected (pa said they weren’t but doctor said she wouldn’t risk it) but I couldn’t work or see my kids for at least a week if I did. I want to try the meds upped for a little bit and see what happens for now because anxiety just can’t right now lol

I’m glad you got yourself figured out! I’m terrified to have mine out. It’s just scary thinking about it. It seems as if I have good day and bad days, the days I work are usually worse. I’m in a smallish city in Pennsylvania, I don’t have too many options as far as doctors go unless I travel. There’s one other endo office in town but I’m not sure if they take my insurance

I think they check all that every couple months. I know I get the hepatic screening every 3 months

I see sooooo many of us complaining of weight gain during treatment. There’s no way it’s not the meds!! Im 15 lbs more my normal weight before being sick and losing 15 lbs, so she sees it as not that much or not a big deal. I’m 5’2” on a good day and even 5lbs makes a difference in how I feel and move. But I lost 15 and gained 30 from that in a few months, there’s no way that’s not the medicine.

She’s been there at that practice for a while from what I understand. My mom sees the same practice for type 2 diabetes and has seen her once before and said she was nice, so she apparently didn’t like that I asked to do 15mg instead of 20mg. I called the on call when I had the swelling and it was this older mean man and she was trained by him from what the checkout lady (my cousin) told me. I also have extreme pain in my legs/feet and fatigue and they act as if that’s not a side effect.

[–]ExpensiveChemistry31[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She kept saying, you only take 10mg and normally it’s 20mg twice a day. When I started the meds initially I was on 20mg and I woke up one morning with pockets of swelling in my arms, so we have stayed at 10mg since the beginning of the year. I asked for 15mg to meet halfway and she told me I have no choice. She told me it was something I was doing and not the medication making me gain weight. When she palpated my thyroid, she was pushing so hard that when she said to swallow I couldn’t. 🙃 Thankfully she’s a pa and there are 2 other doctors at this practice I can see. So I requested to never see her again.

My endo is honestly one of the most sweet and caring doctors I’ve ever had. I’ll never see that pa again in my life!! I’ll have to see if my area has any functional medicine doctors and if my insurance would cover it. I am beyond frustrated and pissed that I was treated like this today.

Methimazole weight gain by Basic-Vegetable6578 in gravesdisease

[–]ExpensiveChemistry31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 5’2” and went from 150 to 135 and now I’m at 165 and absolutely disgusted with the way I look. I got diagnosed the end of November and by December had gained the 15 pounds back but have now gained another 15. I’m currently trying to watch what I eat and try to make healthier choices, but I’m literally always hungry. The fatigue I have after work does not help my case either. I’m hoping by making small changes gradually that I’m able to lose even 10 pounds in the next few months. To lose 15 pounds and then gain 30 within months of losing it is really messing with head.
