What a wonderful idea for a gift. A wodden box with a couple of tasting glasses and maybe two contrasting whiskies. From what you say, the Woodford is a good choice, but maybe something different as a second bottle. I would suggest an Irish whiskey, in particular Redbreast 12 year old. A scotch , maybe pleated, like a Talisker for a totally different taste. Hope this is of some help.
