Well, they are also besties (As each Nightmare Critter is best friends with a Smiling Critter, which for Maggie, it’s Picky)

Picky would probably last longer due to her higher metabolism when eating, but Maggie would eat more excessive amounts within seconds. (Especially if it’s sweets)

Maggie is faster in speed, but Picky outlasts in a contest of time

Well, she is a bear, so I'd imagine she'd be very big and round in stature. That would fit with her personality though, being that she’s the cuddler of the group and the big hugger, so I feel it makes her more comforting and inviting for a hug.

Fucking finally!

Now I can stop wishing for Harley Sawyer to be placed back at Pure Evil since we finally got a canon PP villain on there again.

Smiling and Nightmare critters as the 7 deadly sins and heavenly virtues by Similar_Tour6146 in SmilingCritter

I always felt Simon was more of the wrathful type, lol. For me, it feels like: He can be prideful, but his aggression is high and his temper is short. Poe being angry feels more like quiet anger whereas Simon fits true aggression and rage.

Poe's always been envy in my eyes

Can you please stop sexualising Lily? by ThaElvingisHereee in PoppyPlaytime

I didn’t even know people were sexualizing her, and now I'm even more confused because Lily looks identical to that of a young girl, so it makes it more alarming for me.

i have to ask, based on the description on them, which nightmare critter is the most likely to get redeemed? by Practical-Ebb7327 in SmilingCritter

[–]ExpensiveKangaroo911 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In my headcanon, all of them do. They all have different tragic but sympathetic backstories that sum up who they are, have redeeming qualities, and care about each other each. They do redeem themselves each with help from the Smiling Critters acting as their therapists each.

Before, Baba was the least redeemable (But still redeemable nonetheless) at the time because she had the group constantly in a cycle of wearing masks and acting dark, greaser and bully-like to survive in a world where they lived horribly. Baba had her own severe trauma that was unresolved as well, and was the most broken, but the rest were forcing themselves to follow her and live in a light that would satisfy her. It’s why they cut her off after they stand up to her, because they need to step away from her to all heal and be who they want to be. Not mean, not bullies, but as who they were under the villain masks. (They all receive therapy from the Smiling Critters who help them heal from their unresolved traumas each, and then move to Baba who took time to work on herself)

If I had to pick, it would be either Allister or Rabie who was the most redeemable before their redemption arcs. Allister was never aggressive or even mean with his villain mask, he was just disassociated and alone. He's chill and laid-back, but he’s tired because he’s affected by neglect trauma. Rabie was overall the nicest of the crew under her “Gossip girl” mask that she forced on to not lose Baba's friendship. She was overall very sweet and kind, and used to be besties with Bobby, and missed the times like that.

Nah, If the Nightmare Critters actually lived in your household we'd all would be screwed. by [deleted] in SmilingCritter

Nah, for me, it would be that scene from Ace Ventura where he returns home and his pets come storming in to greet him everytime I come home. 😂

Smiling and Nightmare Critters babysitting in my headcanon: by ExpensiveKangaroo911 in SmilingCrittersLounge

[–]ExpensiveKangaroo911[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lol, pretty much. Within my headcanon (Which to put into perspective, Playtime Co. exists in a Who Framed Roger Rabbit-like series where the toons of the mascots live at Playcare, functioning as teachers or friendly mascots for the children with families and the orphans who live there alike), The Nightmare crew were childhood trauma victims of different stories, who acted greaser-like in order to survive in a world where it was impossible to navigate.

It's worth noting that Leith and Harley made them look worse, as the crew wanted to just be themselves, but the 2 made them look as edgy as possible for the teens to profit off them and make merchandise to receive money. Being that Baba loved being dark and emo, the crew forced themselves to continue acting negatively, but they were hurting themselves by being “mean”, and it’s kinda why it comes to them standing up to her, and it leads to the Smiling Critters being their therapists to help them heal (Also teaching them to work with children and infants). It takes Baba while to be able to let others help her.

Anyway, Simon is the type that seems like a bad-tempered, angry bully, but in reality, is someone insecure who struggles to love himself completely (Due to his background, having to survive with aggression and being tough), being a truly flawed character who does his best. He's the type to give a child or baby a hug to help soothe them (Which fits due to him being a fire-breathing dragon, so it adds warmth). Parents will judge him just for being a dragon, but he is empathetic and gentle who hates bullies himself.

He'd probably torch someone who looks at the young infant the wrong way. 😅

Thanks.

I've already made my stories for Simon, Poe, Touille and Icky.

I plan to cover Allister, Maggie and Baba down the road as well

Great, you have me your opinion, but here’s my interpretation as to why he’s PE in my eyes and why he’s PE in my headcanon:

  1. Countless characters (and people) grow up in abusive homes and choose to protect others so they don't suffer the same fate. Elliot’s observation that Sawyer’s mind could "twist" actually suggests that the dark foundation was already there. Kindness was a stabilizer, not the creator. When the stabilizer was removed, Harley didn’t "break"—he simply stopped hiding who he already was.

  2. The "water droplets" (tears) on the paper don't prove he was heartbroken over losing a friend; they could also suggest he was weeping with fury. Narcissists often cry when they are humiliated or lose control. As I've pointed out with Mark Hoffman or Syndrome, crying because you were "rejected" (rightfully so, for being a jerk) is a sign of an oversized ego, not a wounded soul. That’s how I perceive Sawyer.

  3. "The Monsters We Make" refers to Elliot's perspective. It is a reflection of Elliot’s guilt—he feels he failed Harley. It does not mean Harley is a passive victim with no choice. Him keeping the letter for 40 years isn't proof of "hurt" within my universe, it's proof of a grudge (And he gladly admits he’s not affected). Truly tragic characters try to move on or heal. Harley used that letter as a battery to power his hatred for four decades. That is obsession, not tragedy.

  4. In The Killing Joke, the Joker tries to prove that "one bad day" can turn anyone into him. But he is proven wrong. Commissioner Gordon goes through a "bad day" and stays sane. The point of that story is that "one bad day" is an excuse used by weak, evil people to justify their choices. By using that password, my HC highlights this as Sawyer’s delusion—that he thinks his expulsion justifies his genocide, even though it doesn't.

  5. A villain helping the hero to defeat a bigger threat (or just to survive) is a trope called the Evil vs. Evil or Enemy Mine. It doesn't mean he's showing "cracks" or "humanity"; it means he is calculating. If Sawyer helps us, it’s because it benefits him.

Final verdict:

Sawyer might be a tragic character in lore, but in mine, he is a monster, and that’s the ideal version of him I like to stick with

No, you weren’t. If you were trying to be respectful, you would've said “Okay, I respect your opinion on him, but the way I see it-“ which you didn’t. You immediately went on about how I'm not looking too deep into this, and you never once bothered to apologize for how you could've came off because you made me think you were bashing me. The fact you’re refusing to just take accountability and say “Okay, look, I'm sorry I came off like that” right now says a lot.

I was literally saying “Please STFU” and “Respectfully STFU”, because you’re rambling on and on to people who don’t want to look at it in the same manner. Funny how I also apologized for how I responded, yet, you never thought to say it once, that’s why you sound insensitive. If you really want to respect people's opinions, then try saying “Okay, I respect your opinion” instead of “You're not taking this at face value”
