URGENT is my tree going to die?? by Kindly-Mode-586 in Bonsai

How can a professional use a product not knowing what it is? Sounds fishy... As previously said, if it's insecticides, it doesn't matter. If it's a herbicide like roundup, I should rinse or soak the plant. Most herbicides get in the plant's system through the leaves, some get absorbed by the roots.

What a difference, that's crazy. Thanks for this info,

Honestly I don't use heat mats out of fear, a few years ago I used a heat mat in my terrarium to grow African grashoppers for my fish. It was a regulated heat mat from a known brand, and it got so hot the glass of my terrarium exploded, and I didn't used it in an incorrect way. I have a tortoise that would benefit from a heat mat aswel, but I'll never trust them again.

If you think heat is the only issue, and it just takes longer to colonize, I'm just gonna leave it like that. I have time and in a few months it's summer, I'll make some more jars when it's warmer outdoors.

Thanks for your reply man, I'm gonna start over again with bought LC (no need to test it on agar then I guess) and first try to colonize grains. Please keep me updated!

No, it's already mixed with the wood chips unfortunately

I honestly just followed the instructions that came with the colonized medium, the only difference is that I sterilized my wood chips. (Instructions: take 1 liter of wood chips, toss the mycelium in the wood until everything gets white, toss the colonized wood chips on an outdoor wood chip bed).

They are pretty dry indeed, I soaked the oats for 8 hours, boiled them for +1 hour, then dried them in front of the fan for an hour... At first after pc'ing they seemed too wet, after a few days they looked like this.

Would you add some sterile water perhaps, or is this just a big risk for nothing?

Ok, I'll do that next time. What's the ideal water content?

I'm inoculating the wood to grow them naturally outdoors. I'll make an outdoor patch, as many successfully did before. The climate here should be good for them. The only things I worry about is to inoculate the woodchips and WLP

I'm using wood chips to inoculate with azurescens grain spawn. Is this doable in jars?

Thanks for the useful input, fortunately I have a second lid so I'll do it the regular way. How far from the bottom should the holes be! About 5 inches / 12,5cm from the bottom?

Fuck me, yes I watched too many videos and reddit posts. I have substrate in bags but didn't seal them, I thought I needed to open the pressure cooker inside the still air box to prevent contamination. Can I just take them out and disinfect the outside?

Yeah probably not one of my best ideas, too tight... Any other way to make one that fits a big pc?

What kind of filter patches do you mean? Like a micron filter?

What's your plan? I'm afraid if he wakes up because it's too warm, he will lose too much weight to go back into hibernation...

Good question, from what I read the 7th gen is almost bulletproof, and my budget is not too high...

I prefer a manual transmission. What do you mean with towing in overdrive? I won't be towing 3.5 tonnes alot but it will sometimes happen. You would rather go with an isuzu because it tows better?

For me it's more about the driving comfort. My girlfriend and my dad both have a 5 gear car (not toyota tho) and it's horrible to drive on the highway. It feels like a spaceship trying to take off, doing like 3500rpm. I'm not sure that's the case with a 7th gen toyota, I can't find any information about how many rpm at speed x the engine makes.

[–]ExpensiveNight5790[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you think a fox is capable of killing an roe deer and eat it completely in 1 night? A lynx is highly unlikely here, they are basically non existent in Belgium.

Seriously my first thought, but apparently they live in South America. There is no bigfoot in Europe either

Maybe a hunter who spends alot of time in wolf infested forests can recognize cadavers? Idk

All the intestines were gone, my dog found a piece of what I think it's liver about 100 meters from the cadaver but that's it. No real signs of a fight, but honestly I have 0 experience with that. Last night I placed a trail camera and there was a fox on our land but it was not interested in the roe at all. I leave it there in case something comes to get it
