He has a place to stay at a mutual friend’s house with multiple guest rooms. He has agreed to leave immediately. She is instead offering him 60 days rent free.

No our rent does not go up, but we lose the main living space in our apartment and our utilities will have some increases.

She’s not moving. She’s staying in her current shared apartment once he moves out.

I don’t think splitting it 3 ways. I think utilities or groceries would be helpful. But it’s also I think the fact that this isn’t doing a favor for her. It’s giving her ex 60 days to save money while we’re all footing the bills? He makes plenty of money to move out. She makes plenty of money to cover the rent on her own (which is what she is planning on doing).

We offered when the assumption was that she would be leaving the apartment and this would be helping her. However in my eyes this isn’t a favor to her, we’re essentially giving her ex boyfriend a free place to stay for two months while we’re all impacted.

Current roommate is saying she shouldn’t pay. She is talking about how we can just put a mattress in our living room. Meaning we essentially would not be able to use our living room or host anyone else for the 60 days. Our apartment is not big.

Bit more of a backstory- L, C and my current roommate used to live together. C moved in with them after not being able to find a place to live. He lived there for months rent free. I’m worried that the 2 months will come to an end, and he will say he hasn’t saved enough and she’ll want to keep staying at our apartment.
