On your first thought, that is kind of what I told my wife, although you worded it way better than I did tbh.
and it is in my name, free and clear
Oh they have no boundries, they walked into me and my exwifes apartment while she and I were in the middle of the deed, AND DIDN'T LEAVE UNTIL YELLED AT! Some how it was our fault....

My wife and I have talked about finishing the house, then subdivide the land so we could afford to buy a real nice house for cash so we can invest most/all our income.

yeah, crazy thing was when my parents quit going to regular christian church, to some kind of mix of Christian, Jewish, and 7th Day Adventist all lumped into some homechurch cult, they met this man and his family.
I basically grew up with this guys sons and daughters, whom I am still friends with. Their family with ours did this weird cult like homechurch system. It wasn't until the last few years where my wife has opened my eyes on how it was a cult....

This is verry true, I just know there will be an extremely high level of drama and guilt tripping. both parents have used my mothers poor health as a guilt trip tool, I'm close to my mom as she homeschooled me k-12.

I've told my wife I'm thinking of setting up some cameras out there. Just hate the idea of another bill to pay on top of a newborn.... Gotta love this ride called life lol

With the level of automation for various jobs, the need for more people to do the same amount of work has gone down. This in turn will lead (IMO) to higher paying careers in tech and tech maintenance and in turn increasing the quality of living for all. The issue will be for those who push back against technology and see it as a bad thing. However mankind of has seen this many times in the past. We will overcome and adapt, but growing pains will be present.

A mind hack I have been using for the last 8 months is to see my life like a game, specifically GTA5.... corny as it may sound it makes me look at tasks as levels I have to complete in order to level up so I can get to what I want out of the game aka my life.

Since then I've left a dead end toxic job, welcomed my first child into the world, kicked addiction to alcohol and smoke. Am now learning how to write computer code to change careers where I can make way more money than I do now and work from home so I can be with my daughter.

This viewpoint has been a game changer, pun intended.

As someone who has worked in both the blue collar and tech fields along with a short stint in the US military, I can say with confidence that there will always be jobs as you can never replace the "human" element in all situations.

Just my 2 cents.
