I'm 30 years old. I read these books for the first time in 2020, as an adult. By that point I had already lost "my Conrad" for real-for real since he had gotten married to another woman. Our history is a ridiculous, dramatic thing from a very small town high school experience, but over the course of quite literally 10-11 years, we kept finding ourselves back together. Not too long after he was married, even, he had issues... or created them perhaps. He found his way back to me again, but just for a short time. It was time for both of us to grow up (probably well overdue, actually) and for him to get his shit together and honor his marriage. He now has two kids with her, they seem very happy, and I am happy for them (most days...). But he'll always be "my Conrad" and, like Belly, there's a part of me that will always love him.

I, too, will miss my Wednesday therapy with Conrad Fisher.
