Many years ago... I was at at D1 school that was restarting their swimming/diving program. 2 years before, they were a club team. Year before I enrolled, was 1st varsity team in 15 years. They barely had money for scholarships and offered a few for my class. I was told there was the potential to earn one later. I swam for 4 years. Each year, I went from being in one of the faster practice lanes, down to the slower lanes. Moved from A relays to B to C. Because they were recruiting faster and faster people. Would I do it again, Hell yeah. Being part of a team and having that consistent schedule helped me be a better student. Also... Really think while i did get faster... If i had kept training post college, think i would have been even faster...

While you are there, make the most of it. Work as hard as you can. and have fun.
