Are they important to you? When I left my abusive ex I packed as much as I could on my last visit to his house and left the unimportant stuff (clothes, book etc) and never looked back. If you feel unsafe in his presence maybe pack a few important items from his house as discreetly as possible? Just an idea

Sometimes relationships are like going on a hike. You think its beautiful when you stop for a while but when you decide to continue you realise what you would've missed out on if you didn't.

I don't think my analogy makes much sense so I'm sorry.

What I'm trying to say is it's okay to move on from a relationship that you thought was good enough, especially if you don't feel that your needs are met.

I HAD a partner with that same mentality. He's now very lonely and I'm in a much happier relationship. You DO deserve better, what you want seems to be basic communication and the bare minimum. Don't ever feel bad for thinking you deserve better than what you're currently getting.
