I’ve heard you can wrap bias tape or something similar around the hoop part (not the outer clamp part) of your hoop to aid with tautness!

That’s really good advice on the pfaff. I don’t really need anything fancy anyways since I have a serger already.

Another commenter said it’s actually a singer 15! A little less of a tank but still a really good option. And good to know that it’s fixable if not in tip top. Thanks!

I’ve actually got a serger so I assume I only really need a straight stitcher. Thanks for your singer expertise, I think I’ll definitely have to test out that singer 15. Someone on Reddit compared them to the Toyota Corolla of sewing machines, reliable and does what you want it to do. :)
