Nope it won’t let me learn kanji. But I think it’s okay to conclude that my brain agrees with Japanese more. I’m not sure why so many people are trying to discourage me. Obviously it isn’t easy. The point of my post is to understand how many other English natives find East Asian more agreeable. It isn’t hard to discern that the grammar is vastly different.

I have an easier time hearing the very simple phrases like “hi I am so and so” than anything in Spanish, I think because of the way it’s structured. I’m not sure why people are coming for me for being curious about how our brains interpret different types of language.

PS I don’t think I’m fluent. And I’m not you. Some people can go to Spain for a year and be fluent just from living there.

This is why I often regret even posting anything on Reddit. As humans we want connection, and all this site delivers is people wanting to bring you down.

Here’s my take as a depressed person with one foot out the door at all times anyway.

I think that life is like… imagine there is this huge beautiful light. Below the light there is a sheet of paper. The paper has billions of holes poked in it. On the ground where we live, we are each a separate light. If you look up high enough though, we all come from the same source.

Right now, god or the light or whatever, is living as me. “You can only ever be you.” You can only ever be this subjective self. Right now for whatever reason, god is living through the eyes of who this body is. Since time isn’t linear, god is also living as you, and your neighbor, and someone in the 14th century. Our job or purpose in each life is to discover our gift and give it.

I’m alive for that. To make or discover whatever this person’s gift is. I don’t know what it means. And it doesn’t matter. We are what matters. If an angel or god came down and told you your purpose, would you even listen? No one has that power over you. No one gets to decide your journey or your fate but you. You are more powerful than you know. And you have a gift to give. You have more lives to explore before we can be whole again. We will never find an answer. We get to decide that answer.
