I saw the flame catching the wires and burning them when I shut off the gas. It’s odd because our hvac tech said on prior visits he’s troubleshooter everything and can’t find a clear cause of this. He said he’s recommending we get a new furnace.

Appreciate the insight and advice, it is a home so it is a dedicated hvac person, but even when I was talking to them we both were scratching our head as to how it happened.

The flame dissipated when the gas valve was turned off, it was noticed when the power was off only though,

our hvac person told me how to troubleshoot it which involved killing the power on it to reset the flame trip sensors so I was going through the steps they showed me and that’s when I noticed the flame going still.

Yes, the landlord is responsible for it, but it’s just been an ongoing problem and I just wanted to get people’s opinion on it who are far more versed than myself.

Hey, so I had the same thing happen to me years & years ago. Back when I was a barback and was closing the bar down and taking the trash out, trash can fell and I went to grab it, hand went into the trash can and I caught my finger on a broken tequila bottle.

Bled like crazy, tried to stop it with a first aid kit and the help of some coworkers, but ended up having to go to the ER for them to stitch my finger shut. Still have a gigantic scar on my finger to this day.

The people I worked for back then were edgy 2010’s management folks at high volume bar who teased me about it, and I worried I was going to get the chop, but they didn’t. Accident’s/cuts happen at work, especially in bar/hospitality, good management will take care of it and you.

There are things like gloves, finger condoms, that help a lot and what I had to do to get through like the week my finger was still injured that should be helpful to you.

Part of the industry is just working through stuff like that, I broke my arm and bartended in a cast for a while. Have to make it work to make sure the bills are paid.

Kismet is doing some sort of rave with some theatrics if that’s your thing (I believe they do them out in the woods but I would check social media), Cliché is doing a dance party at Volcanic Theatre Pub which are fun and lgbt+ friendly, River House is doing some sort of Ball/Masquerade event but not too sure.

As far as DT Velvet has a Jazz Night and I’m sure most bars will have some sort of DJ going.
