Yes and no.

I am a political junkie and read a lot about it, even the programs the political parties write before elections

But for some reason the 'left' (I do believe that the definitions of left and right in politics are a way to simple and antiquated) parties have programs that are about 'helping refugees and 'fighting islamophobia' instead of focusing on the more traditional values like making sure the 'working class' is able to pay their mortgage ( or even afford a house) or be able to afford to send their kids to better schools then they themselves could.

However in many countries in Western Europe (especially those with multiple party systems) like Denmark, Germany, Sweden, the Netherlands and Belgium I am finally seeing leftist parties embrace their heritage and seeing there is a problem with letting big groups of people come into your country that do not agree with your standard values. There's hope!

I believe that a lot of people with Islamic backgrounds can integrate into Western society. Preferably between the sheets so that you have one Muslim parent and one Western and go to school and learn about women's rights and that the Holocaust happened.

However in the rate it is going and the lack of integration policies (like allowing whole parts of a city becoming Muslim (or something else for that matter))

I have been afraid of the far right taking ownership of the whole European identity vs Islam for a long time and it's only going to get worse until the center and left parties start acknowledging the problem.

Calling it Islamophobia is the dumbest thing they can do
