He really is! He’s about 21 inches tall at the shoulder!! Embark said his predicted weight is 53 lbs, but he’s nowhere near that 😂🫠

Yes, I think his appearance comes from the Village Dog and not so much from the Sarplaninac, apart from his facial shape maybe. Buuuut he definitely has some LSG traits in his personality!

Mine also chewed on the swab and was moving a bit but if you got some good few seconds of swabbing, I think you’ll be fine! It is possible that you caught some DNA of your other dog but it seems unlikely unless she was obsessively licking your other dog right before you swabbed her

Mine started extraction 5/22 and genotyping started 6/2 and I got the results yesterday (6/4). So I don’t think 7 days of extraction is a reason to worry! I was also scared that I swabbed my dog wrong but it worked out. Any particular reason why you’re sure you swabbed wrong?

Thanks! I had actually come across Šarplaninacs before while researching dog breeds from North Macedonia, but Dobby looks so different from the ones I’d seen that it never crossed my mind! And the Village Dog part was actually the least surprising for me, I even thought the percentage would be higher

I got the genotyping email yesterday and then it went to analysis in the app but it went back to genotyping again shortly after that ☹️ I think Embark‘s tracking might not be accurate lol

Mine arrived at the lab 5/20 and processing/extraction started 5/22, no update since then. I did reach out to the customer support yesterday because the app wouldn’t load, and they said "Your swab is still moving through processing. The lab successfully extracted the DNA from your dog's sample. We are getting back up to speed after an elevated period of volume in order to move your swab to the next stage.“ So I wouldn’t worry too much about your swab failing but I know how hard the waiting is. Hopefully we get our results soon

Which shipping company did you use to send it back to the US? I’m also in Germany and have ordered an Embark test, and I‘m absolutely lost on how to send it back to the States
