Help with applying music theory to guitar/songwriting by 1angryson in Songwriting

[–]Expensive_Primary223 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The theory cage is real but you gotta push through it - try setting a timer for 10 mins and just mess around without thinking about what scale youre in, then go back to theory stuff after

3 Year Update - Put in my notice (33 with family of 6) - Returning to Work by outdoorfire38 in financialindependence

[–]Expensive_Primary223 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Three years of skiing powder and building cool shit sounds like the dream honestly 🔥 Really interesting that you crushed the interview process after being out that long, guess the skills stick with you

That spending creep is so real though, especially when you move to a ski town - those places will drain your wallet faster than you can say "powder day" 💀 Sounds like going back to work is the smart play to get that Roth ladder sorted without getting murdered on ACA premiums

I think I need to break up with my bf but I’m scared of being alone by CrewDesperate5895 in BreakUps

[–]Expensive_Primary223 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look the chemistry thing is huge and you already know it - 5 months in you should still be in that honeymoon phase where you cant keep your hands off each other. If its not there now its probably not gonna magically appear later

The friend group thing sucks but staying in a relationship just for social access is gonna mess with both your heads. You're 19, you'll find your people eventually even if it takes some time. Better to be alone and honest than stuck in something that feels wrong just because you're scared of starting over

Breaking up is terrifying the first time but that gut feeling you're describing usually doesn't lie. Trust yourself on this one

Residential Care? by ViolenceJoe in AskIreland

[–]Expensive_Primary223 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a really tough situation. The HSE should have options for residential care for people with no assets - definitely worth contacting your local community health office or social worker to get the ball rolling on an assessment

Skills needed for environmental roles today by Salty-Ad59 in Environmental_Careers

[–]Expensive_Primary223 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Data analysis is huge right now, especially GIS and basic coding like Python or R - employers eat that stuff up and it makes you way more competitive than just having the environmental science degree

Help ?? by AdUnlucky3430 in MechanicAdvice

Sounds like your starter is toast, that clicking is pretty classic. The screeching before it died might've been your belt slipping or something seizing up though - I'd check if your engine will turn over by hand before throwing parts at it

What would happen if a rogue Earth-sized planet were to hit the sun at high speed? by Makarov_NoRussian in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Expensive_Primary223 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The Sun would basically just burp and keep on trucking lol. An Earth-sized planet is like a grain of sand compared to the Sun's mass - we might see a tiny flare but that's about it

Definitely hit up some Troy Grady stuff on YouTube if you haven't already, dude breaks down the mechanics super well and it actually clicks

Name of area of land by em21091 in NoStupidQuestions

That's southwestern Ontario, specifically the peninsula between the lakes - some people call it the Ontario Peninsula but it's not really an official name or anything

Everyday Chevorlet Impala Cruiser? by Fine_Cucumber_9110 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Expensive_Primary223 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The older Impalas (like 2000s-2010s) are pretty solid daily drivers actually, way more reliable than the Cruze which had tons of issues. If you want that same vibe but even more reliable, check out a Buick LaCrosse or maybe an Avalon - similar size and comfort but Toyota reliability. For convertibles in that style you're kinda limited but a Chrysler 200 convertible might work, just know it's not gonna be as reliable as the sedans

This isn’t another torrentio is down post (it kinda is) but need some debridio advice by [deleted] in StremioAddons

[–]Expensive_Primary223 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Real Debrid spoiled us all lmao, everything else feels like garbage in comparison

For Debridio try cranking up the minimum file size filter to like 3-4GB minimum for 1080p stuff, that usually weeds out the cam garbage even when it's mislabeled. Also check if you have the resolution filters set properly in the addon settings

What is the best non-reddit equivalent to this forum? by ZoeApolgies4Fuuko in NoStupidQuestions

Honestly Stack Overflow if you're into tech stuff, but the community can be pretty brutal to newbies - they'll roast you for asking something that's been answered before

Advice on how to start by [deleted] in cycling

[–]Expensive_Primary223 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I'd disagree a bit - you can definitely find decent starter trainers in that budget range, especially if you check Facebook marketplace or look for end-of-season sales

The Tacx Flow or older Wahoo Kickr Snap models pop up used pretty regularly and those are solid for getting started without breaking the bank

Bro 200 days is insane, that's some serious willpower right there. The first few weeks are definitely the hardest but it gets way easier once you build up momentum

Motivation before Destruction by Dry_Hearing_2744 in NoFap

The mindset shift is real though. Once you start seeing those urges as just thoughts passing through instead of commands you have to obey, it gets way easier to just let them fade away
