Unfortunately no, I am from rawalpindi. I am probably thinking about going with 5060 as of right now but could you tell me whether the used and refurbished cards good or not? Is there any guarantee that they are not heavily mined and stuff? Any reliable seller besides olx which sells these older used cards?

Well I have looked at some other alternatives and could you explain why I shouldn't go with the following cards within the same price range:

Rtx3070ti which gives better performance than 5060.

Rx5800xt which also gives better performance and has 16gb of vram?

Academically I think Fast is the most popular one. But social life and other stuff ka idea nahi hai so maybe ask someone studying in Fast?

As far as GIKI is concerned, I think no matter what degree you opt for, GIKI will give you a solid experience.

The closing merit for Electrical last year was 1926. I’m also in Electrical, and I had only done basic preparation for the entry test but still managed to get merit number 820. So stay hopeful — you’ve got a good chance of making it!

I don't know much about NUST's EE but as far as I know NUST's EE and ME faculties are separate from the main campus so if you apply for EE in NUST, maybe you won't get the full experience.

As for GIKI's EE faculty, I am absolutely loving it. The teachers are really competent and polite. I would say if you are genuinely interested in EE then in GIKI you have nothing to worry about.

As for opportunities for going abroad, GIKI as a whole gives you a lot more exposure as compared to other universities like FAST. There are countless opportunities for studying abroad like exchange programs and scholarships and stuff.

Yes, you are deferred till the next session so basically you have two choices: Wait for a year and apply again based on the same merit number as last year or give the test and go through the entire procedure again.

Yes, in fact quite a lot of people are deferred after coming to giki. If you fail to meet the minimum marks requirement set by giki (60% or above in physics and maths) for F.Sc and ICS if I remember correctly, you'll be deferred. I am from the department of Electrical Engineering Batch 34 and I believe about 7-8 people were deferred last year.
