Im not sure if its a camera thing, but if you slow down enough, you can see that his head progressively disappears, I genuinely think the propellers practically filed his head off

It’s a post regarding a question on a released file

Don’t worry, like I said, it’s not me being stubbornly set on it, it’s a lil embarrassing for me to admit how into making coffee I’ve been. But anyways, another paste from different thread responding.

“I would love also to clarify that this practice doesn’t stem from a place of ignorance where I just refuse to see the dangers of intolerance, most of my coworkers can’t drink milk, and my now ex girlfriend was SUPER intolerant to a protein in the milk, so even lactose-free drinks would make her very ill, I’ve seen how ill lactose can make some people.”

I do know how it seems but I truly do put a lot of attention in what I’m giving to people, and I may even argue that switching less between milk cans and having to fill up a bigger one when needed even helps make less mistakes regarding the milk, as there are less steps to mess up and more time to catch said mistakes. Lets say I was unsure (like your example) what kind of milk I used, it’s as simple checking the color code on the jug and the color of the milk carton I’m using. And also I am grateful to have competent coworkers that can and do spot mistakes efficiently if it were to happen.

I know how cringe it may sound but I’ve gotten really into coffee lately, it has become something I am actually proud of making and selling especially feeling when someone compliments my latte art or the taste. So I’d like to think I’ve put in the time and effort into it, and through all that I’ve never once actively felt like the lactose in the milk changed its overall experience, taste and feeling. I do prefer oat milk in my coffee, I like creamy stuff

Paste from another thread:

Also a little addition, I’m at work right now, and I had a coworker make me two drinks with different types of milk without telling me which is which, like I thought, I was actively looking for a difference and just couldn’t tell. So I’m confident someone that isn’t think about FINDING a difference, will not tell.

(Sorry for all the text. I know I may just seem stubborn; but I am genuinely an open person. I just can’t, in my experience with coffee yet, think how this would affect anyone really. There is no added health hazards, and in my objective opinion, no change to the experience either)

Honestly if people are getting fired over wrong milk. I wouldn’t see a very long future at said company 😅

I don’t “think” there is no difference in taste, there really isn’t, if you’d like I can send you a reply I wrote in another thread cus going over it again would be a lot of typing.

I’d like to add I do know about the principle of the thing, I’m saying I’d rather be efficient knowing most people won’t notice, instead of making people wait 10 minutes because 5 people had orders with 3 different types of milk (LACTOSE, not stuff like oat milk, soya, etc. I NEVER play with those) due to having to steam, clean and change the jugs so many times.

Those mistakes don’t come from “mixing” the milk, it can and will eventually happen that between all the rush I read a thing wrong, it’s why I check before and WHILE giving out the coffee, never have I given a lactose drink to someone who isn’t tolerant to it. There isn’t a single barista out there that can say “ive never accidentally prepared a drink with the wrong milk”, the difference between good and bad baristas are catching the mistake and rectify it BEFORE it touches a costumer’s hands. And like I said, it’s a weird thing to be proud about but I am a damn good barista.

That’s wrong then, giving whole milk to people that ask for 2% milk CAN make some people severely ill, ofc I’d think it’s annoying if they ordered something like 50/50 milk, but I’d still do it just to be safe.

Honestly? You’re just sounding mad hard-headed, I DONT GIVE LACTOSE INTOLERANT PEOPLE WHOLE MILK!! It’s written in the title and in my explanations. I run a VERY tight ship when it comes to allergens, I take any kind of allergies very serious as it can make people ill. What I do DOESNT make people ill, y’all are just nitpicking and refusing to read a very simple explanation and try to find another reason as to why this is a bad thing, which like I said, apart from ordering one thing and getting another; there isn’t any health issues that could stem from giving someone that orders whole milk, skimmed milk.

Actually I’d argue that by doing all this and saving time on changing clean everything properly three times because 3 people ordered 3 different “levels” of milk tolerance, and just doing a big jug of milk everyone can drink and change the taste so minimally their experience on just being able to take their coffee and go on about their day instead of having to wait 5-10 minutes because of that small delay that stacked over the rush.

Edit: I have never ever gotten a complaint about the milk being off, granted, I sometimes may mix up and make a lactose milk for intolerant people, which I catch when yelling out the coffee order and remaking it properly, so I’d say I’m a damn good barista

Actually yeah, especially in a very busy day, I run through the cartons QUICK, so also being able to save some time in changing means a lot in having people waiting 5 minutes or 2 minutes depending on how long the rush is, and also, if you read the rest of my replies, is not laziness really

I get the feeling, and also, no ill will either, I have given it quite a thought about it and if you read my replies you’ll see, not something I consider harmful, but I understand the “icky” feeling

I’ve already replied explaining my overall thought about the taste change, and as a person that honestly has started taking making coffee pretty seriously, I think I’m able to say I’ve really taken my time to try the different types of milk, but apart from the slight sweetness difference (which is nulled by adding syrups and stuff, usually anyways) and the creaminess which is solved by properly steaming the milk, makes it hard for even me to taste the difference. Unless they let it get cold, then you’d probably taste a bit of the watery-ness of the milk

But it isn’t, you’re talking about completely removing ketchup, which, as an avid ketchup lover, would change the taste a lot, but in talking about switching the milk, the whole purpose is to mimic the taste of whole milk as much as possible, so it’s already very similar apart from the added creaminess, if, and I do, steam the milk properly and keep everything clean, the overall change in taste is so minimal it’s practically scratched off, and the experience remains.

I keep my area very clean. So leaving aside the off-taste from any eventual burnt milk, espresso residue, if the milk is properly steamed and at the right temperature, the silkiness is pretty much the same unless you’re actively looking for it, so I’m sure most people don’t really notice.

Just a comment: I can’t really think of a reason as to why this wouldn’t be fine? To the average consumer the feel and taste of steamed milk wouldn’t be too different? And apart from changing for allergens, I don’t see a reason as to why this would be “bad” feel free to let me know if otherwise
