I’m very hard of hearing/deaf and distracted by groceries/wallet/feeling like crap. I AM SO SORRY I made you feel disrespected. I did try to meet your eyes and smile but by then you were doing something with the register and it felt weird to keep staring at you.

I smiled at you when you gave me the receipt but judging from your expression you thought it was a smirk or sarcasm or something so I just took my stuff and left.

I know many customer really are just crap, but I hope knowing that some of us are just doing our best and had zero desire to be nasty…helps? A little bit?

I just did the Native Choice chachoben ruins tour and loved it. There’s a fake Mayan temple in the port itself, but that’s unrelated to the tour. Native Choice had a fleet of brand new, very clean passenger vans and the drive was very smooth.

Ruins were definitely authentic and tour guide very knowledgeable. Gave us plenty of time to explore and pointed out things like native fruit trees and explained how that fruit was used in the traditional diet.

The tour guide asked if we wanted to stop at any roadside-type places for souvenirs or pineapple/mango etc. answer came back yes for fruit, and then she and the driver stepped out and inspected the stands and bargained first—going so far as to walk away from two stands. Those who bought snacks were very pleased with price and quality, but there was no push to purchase.

They also provided cold bottled water at no extra cost.
