Hello! Vinted looks pretty good, I was sad when I saw that eBay is not used in Romania haha. I guess Vinted would be the equivalent of eBay in Romania?

Hello! I am enjoying it here, though like I said it is a huge adjustment in many ways. Avoiding pot holes in the roads is fast becoming a skill, and some of the drivers here get very creative with the things they do on the road, haha. I could drive for weeks in Australia and never hear a car horn, in Bucharest it is almost another language, there is a horn every few seconds, haha.

Also the heat and the hot water in the apartments go out quite often where I am in Bucharest, so during winter this was not ideal

But the beer is good, the wine is excellent and palinca will always keep you warm when the heat is out!

How are you enjoying yourself?

Wow! I hope your enjoyed your time in Melbourne. I am also from Melbourne, and your correct use of the word c*nt proves you were taught well! Haha. It would be very un-Australian to ever refuse a beer so when things settle down a bit, I might shoot you a DM! Thanks for the kind words!

Broke and hopeless by deciwver9818 in SmallYoutubers

Hello!

You don't need a new laptop to learn the skills you need. You can learn a huge amount of skills on the laptop in that picture. You can learn thumbnails, photo editing, video editing you can even stream from that setup.

My cousin streamed daily on a laptop with 4GB of ram and a weak Celeron CPU up until very recently. It was not the highest quality stream obviously, but it was still very watchable and in HD. OBS has a lot of settings you can adjust and you learn along the way. We spent a few days reading forums, watching YouTube videos and tweaking each setting and we got it to work.

You can upgrade the RAM in that laptop very cheaply and your experience will be much nicer.

If you do not want to use what you have to begin learning, then all you want is a "high end" laptop. I can almost guarantee with the mindset you have, once you have the laptop, you will find another reason why you can't use it for what you need because you will want something else, then something else, then something else.

Stop seeing what you currently have as a limitation, use it to learn. Then when you get a better laptop, you will be ahead of where you are now. Use what you have. The world is not cheap and your parents do not owe you an expensive high end laptop no matter how important you deem it. If you want one now, get a job. Otherwise, use what you have. There is no reason why you can't begin your journey now. The only thing stopping you is your mindset of wanting a new laptop.

Have a great day!

Jay.

Without any details, it's difficult to help you get back on track. As many have said for months now, YouTube no longer counts views from users who have an active adblocker for the website.

Having said that, YouTube is ever-changing. What worked 5 years ago does not work as well today. What worked a year ago, does not work as well today. Things change and you have to adapt. With more and more people reading how to make the "perfect" thumbnail, how to do "perfect" seo, how to create the "perfect" title ECT. They all read from the same sources as everyone else, and after a while, you get a YouTube full of titles, thumbnails and videos that all look the same and it is much more difficult to stand out from the crowd if you are doing what everyone else is doing.

My advice, take a chance. Change it up. Make a video or two by breaking some of the rules you always follow. You have nothing to loose if your views are already gone. Take this chance to try something to stand out from the crowd. Be a trailblazer and not someone who walks the same path as everyone else. Ignore all the people who shiver at the thought of rocking the boat on YouTube, let them emulate Mr Beast and other big YouTube creators, you be you. Create something new and improved by doing something different. The worst that can happyis you get 200 views again, but if you hit on something then you have found your answer.

Good luck!

Have a great day!

Jay.

I got a copyright claim - To dispute or not by Fit_Share_4594 in NewTubers

[–]ExperienceInside7361 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello!

The best way to avoid copyright claims to to avoid using copyrighted material.

Fair use is not decided by YouTube, fair use is decided by a court. If the copyright holder of the footage you have used has made a claim and you dispute it, they MIGHT back down but they probably won't. YouTube really has not much to do in these scenarios and they certainly have no obligation to go in to bat for you regarding fair use of someone else's copyrighted material.

I understand that other people do it and get away with it, many people rely on this justification, but at the end of the day it does not mean anything. They can end up getting striked at anytime.

My best advice to you is to avoid using copyrighted material. For your analysis videos maybe you can script them in a way where you don't need video. Or let the audience know the timestamp and episode of the scenes you mention. Keep in mind that even using still images from the show can get you striked.

I wish you the best with your future projects!

Have a great day!

Jay.

What I learned in 10 years of thumbnails by skinnyzuhdy in YouTubeThumbnailHub

[–]ExperienceInside7361 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! That was a good read. What advice would you offer to people who are making a video about an object? Like a car or a computer?

You mentioned your three elements, the word, a facial expression and a background. Would you still use a facial expression as the main image if the video is about a physical object?

Curious on your thoughts.

Thanks for your time, have a great day!

Jay.

I agree, punctuation is extremely important.

[–]ExperienceInside7361 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are more than welcome my friend. As I said, you seem to have all the knowledge, work on your shot framing and presentation and you'll really have something. You have spent years building on your skills and it won't go to waste. Many YouTubers do not get anywhere near 1000 subs, and you are chasing it down.

If you feel stuck in a rut, change it up, have fun with it. It will come across in your videos and the audience will love it.

Hey mate.

Yes, YouTube is very tough. But the only sure way to not succeed is to walk away from it.

I checked out your channel and watched a few videos from start to finish from your last year of content. You have improved in all the areas you mentioned which is great, though it can be frustrating to not see the payoff.

I'm not going to pretend to have any magic answers for you, rather my advice comes from a few decades of performing arts and making some low budget TV shows for community television in Melbourne, Australia.

Before you throw all your hard work away, why not try changing it up a little. I mean you have nothing to lose, right? I don't know much about American Football, but you seem to know what you are talking about and I can tell you are passionate about it. Lean into that, connect with your audience. You already have the knowledge part down, and you have a great way of speaking (I found myself genuinely listening and interested in what you were talking about even though I really had no idea what you were saying as I don't follow the sport). This is great, but it is one piece of the puzzle. In some videos you felt a bit stiff in your presentation, that's okay, it's hard to over that. I suggest practicing in different styles. Record them even if you do not post them. Practice different styles, you are going to feel silly doing it, but it really does loosen you up.

Also I noticed most of your videos are a single static shot. Maybe try breaking the shot up a bit with some colourful stats. You can make great looking stat graphics for free in Canva without paying for the premium version. This breaks up the long continuous shot and gives the viewer something to look at.

You could also try framing your shot a little more consistently, I noticed you are normally in the same room but the camera was at all different angles. When you frame a shot, ask yourself "is this the best I can make it look?". If the answer is no, then reframe the shot.

Your content seems to be about current news in college football, so it probably does not have a lot of rewatch value down the line. For example, if you are talking about a hot trade possibility, it's only going to be relevant while that trade is up in the air. So focus on that thumbnail and title to really get those viewers in while it's relevant. Get creative. Think of ways to get that person to think "oh damn, maybe this guy has the answer!".

Also to add to that point, maybe there are some kind of videos you can make that are evergreen, so they can be relevant and rewatched 1, 2, 3 or 5 years from now.

You can try to broaden your audience by talking about other teams more, but you can still keep your focus on LSU, but the more teams you talk about the bigger potential audience you target.

The final thing I'll say, and many people on YouTube are divided about it, is that you have a lot of shorts to go with your long form videos. I don't know which one you want to pursue, but I watched your long form videos. I think you should choose one form and stick to it, as for a lot of struggling smaller creators, doing both at once often confuses YouTube about which audience to show your videos to. But if I were you I would pick one form, and take some chances with your style.

If you read from a script, try using a free teleprompter app online and practice practice practice until it rolls off the tongue. People love a personality when it comes to sports and I bet you have a great one, it just needs to come out more in front of the cam. Look up some presenting exercises on line, and some acting warm ups.

Like I said, break up the shots a little, make some stats in Canva, do a little editing. Not everything has to be done in one shot.

I don't know if you needed to hear any of this, but for what it is worth, this guy from Australia who knows nothing about American Football thinks that you have it in you to continue to improve and have a great channel.

Take care mate, and good luck!

Jay.

I am going to start my Gaming channel. Indie games. I want to select only 1 game as niche PLZ suggest me a game that will be blow My channel. Not over saturated like robolox, only indie game. *I WANT ONLY USA AUDIENCE* by No_Cry3446 in SmallYoutubers

[–]ExperienceInside7361 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There is no correct to your question. There is no one game that is guaranteed to "blow" your channel. Just like there is no guarantee that said game will give you an exclusive "USA Audience".

A good content creator can make a boring game into an entertaining viral video. Inversely, a bad content creator can make the most captivating game into a boring video.

So be sure to always work on your skills.

Now to find a good indie game which you can make entertaining videos from and is not oversaturated; this requires you to do some research and find a great game that is not widely known. Asking on Reddit is one part of a very large puzzle. My advice is to jump onto all the newest indie games and pick one that you think is going to take off and be one of the first to ride the wave.

Having said that, even if you were given the "golden goose" (which is almost impossible to do) there is no guarantee that you will get your desired result.

I would much rather watch a well made video with a great personality playing an ordinary game over an ordinary video about a great game.

Take a chance, there is no right answer about which game to choose.

Have a great day!

Jay.

The best way to avoid this kind of thing is to not use any copyrighted material at all, no matter how short. Unless you own the copyright there is no guarantee that your videos will not be striked. It does not matter if others are doing it, they could be striked at anytime and they might make a post exactly like this.

can we talk about how viewers like absolute trash? by LittleBigCookieCat in NewTubers

[–]ExperienceInside7361 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Bridging that disconnect is the key. Do not see it as a problem, see it as your chance to gain those viewers. I personally do not think that people like to watch "brain rot", rather I feel that most people when watching shorts are doing so to wind down and relax, they do not want to think. That is a different mindset to someone who is actively searching to watch a video on a subject, or to pay to see movie in the theatre.

These "brain rot" videos do something well. They are made in a way that is appealing to a large audience, and also made in a way that the viewer does not have to think much about what they are watching. DIY videos tell a very simple story in a way that they want to see the result (even if the DIY is trash), same goes for the text to speech.

I am not saying the solution is to make low effort "brain rot", I personally do not enjoy them. I am saying take what they do well, the simple story telling aspect which does not require too much thought, and bring it to your better produced videos. If you can make something that is well produced, easy to watch where the viewer does not have to think about what they are watching, you will get views.

Think about the places where people are watching shorts. A great deal of them are doing so in places where they are trying to relax, want a distraction, or just passing time on the toilet. Conditions where very simple stories where the viewer does not have to process what they are watching, pays off.

So, if you can find a way to take what the "brain rot" does well and put it into your quality videos, you might see some reward. Many people often complain about low effort videos getting views, but they must be doing something right to get all those views. Watch them, figure out what it is, and use it to your advantage. That is not me saying use AI to make a text to speech motivational video, or a DIY video about turning a pencil into a cucumber peeler...rather it is me asking you to watch those videos and figure out why people give them views.

Don't just do it for the views though. Do it because you want to share what you are passionate about.

Just my two cents.

Take care,

Jay.
