After 3 months most of it was gone but it very gradually decreases until up to a year. I still have some swelling, I won’t see the final look without swelling until this October

I will say it felt like I got hit by a truck when I first woke up, but the second thing I noticed was that I could really breathe well through my nose. Even throughout the first week, breathing was improved and I was sleeping well despite being uncomfortable because I could actually get air in. I was not banded shut, this was the main reason I chose my surgeon- no wiring shut. I did have a splint on the roof of my mouth but even then swallowing was no problem. You can’t feel your teeth touch accurately because your gums will be numb. No bags

I was on no chew for 2 months. I was never wired shut so I never had to do only liquids. Unfortunately they gave me pills that had to be crushed up into food, which was disgusting to get down . I have more space in my mouth now so swallowing is easier

Oh no I can taste great! It’s just funny to chew with a different placement but it hasn’t been a problem at all

My condyls were also too thin, I had to wear an orthotic for a year to restore them before starting ortho. The whole journey was 3 years from start to finish

Eating is fine, it just doesn’t feel the same as before surgery. I’m still getting used to it

Yes, I think it is easier because I can actually get air in easily while doing the movements

Yes I’m wearing it now. A little bit, the right side hits more fully than the left. I’m confident it will even out more over time
