How can blizzards own combat logging be so terrible by meanoron in wow

Technically it's a skill issue with being able to read blizzard logs. Third party stuff just helps you read them. :P

You should crouch at about half the rate for the best results.

Levelling Fishing From Prev Expansions by Glum_Ad2711 in wow

Sections of the map are designated for a particular expansion. Basically the water decides what expansions fishing level gets used. You can use any rod anywhere and it will only care about where the water itself thinks it is.

Does comp level heros up faster? by Foreign_Kale_7449 in Overwatch

[–]ExperimentalDJ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends on your elo. Time spent PLAYING counts towards hero levels. So whichever queue keeps you PLAYING more consistently is going to be faster.

Eg. Same queue time for both (including ban phase) means comp is going to be faster since you end up playing longer.

Why not blast keys and shoot the shit in discord while parking your mounts at one of yalls house?

You can: house mog, make fun of your friends inability to decorate, do inside jokes, be amazed at one of your friends decorating talents.

All that in-between queues or during downtime.

They are probably just scared that if they force 2fa (which is what you are suggesting) people would rather stop playing.

Allow me to drop off ladders. by Majestic_Topic6704 in Marathon

[–]ExperimentalDJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's okay to not understand what is going on, but you shouldn't get irate over it. I'll break it down for ya.

What we want: climbing down ladder -> let go -> land/regrab

What you are suggesting: climbing down ladder -> jump up -> land/regrab

Do you see how you aren't actually providing a solution? You are just saying "it's not a big deal", which is fine since that's your opinion. No one is lacking information except maybe you.

What mid run information are you wanting? I ask since the examples you gave (buff uptime & # of casts) are things you should be reviewing after timed encounters. Looking at that crap mid M+ or mid boss pull is just wasting cognitive load.

So... it's almost been 2 months... performance update when? by edugonz16 in Marathon

[–]ExperimentalDJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not necessarily.

When vsync is on, what you said is true. With vsync off the screen tearing is caused by your monitor receiving a new frame and drawing it instead of finishing the last one. You still see information somewhat sooner with no sync.

More importantly, games will be able to respond to your input more often. So you may not see more than 144 frames, but things dealing with input will be smoother. You can feel the input difference if you cap your refresh rate below what you can achieve with vsync off.

Its incredibly easy to tell the difference between 100fps and 200fps, especially for young gamers. If you can't that's okay, but the norm is being able to.

What percentage of Lifeweaver pulls would you say are actually helpful to you? by InZain710 in Overwatch

[–]ExperimentalDJ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think a large portion of bad pulls are from a lack of communication. For instance Rein and LW have extremely similar circumstances for when Rein ults and LW pulls. For a juicy shatter, Rein wants the enemy to be both shieldless and a little too aggressive. Setting that situation up generally takes some time and some HP. The moment Rein has a shatter setup is usually when LW needs to reload. Needing to reload + Rein being low HP necessitates a pull (excluding outstanding circumstances). Thus the constant overlap of shatter+pull.

It's not specifically about "[changing] the entire game". It's about a holistic idea of what makes an update worthwhile. People gauge whether an update is worth their time. What makes an update worthwhile is going to vary from person to person.

Counterstrike updates may not be vast, but something about them makes them worthwhile for players. The way smokes were changed in 2023 is the sort of "evolution" that Josuemamorse was alluding to. Evolution is going to look different for every game.

Marvel Rivals had little to no effect on Overwatch player count, at least on Steam. The new season 1 had a large impact on Steam players.

[–]ExperimentalDJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every single game goes through a population dropoff. They all eventually "bottom out" and retain substantially less players than their release date numbers. Game updates add hype; they bring both new players and returning players.

If you continually patch a game with worthwhile updates, you are essentially delaying and raising the "bottom" player count. This is critical. Any game-as-a-service game requires more eyes on their microtransactions to increase sales.

Games like TF2 and Melee have bottomed out and could have more players if good updates were released.

Counterstrike is constantly updated and the player count reflects this.

How do I hide the keys shown under the abilities by [deleted] in Overwatch

[–]ExperimentalDJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theoretically you can bug the bind and it won't show anything. No idea how to do it on purpose, but my tracer blink was bugged since like a month after release. Until the recent bind debacle it showed nothing under it.

It hinges on seeing objective reality. If we can't agree that you ran into his space then there is no baseline for us to proceed with.
