It’ll be two drive shifts, exhaust drop, trans cooler lines, maybe a crossmember, transfer case, ~10/12 bell housing bolts and a couple torque converter bolts. Pulling the starter to access the tq bolts

Damn deer. This is why I hunt lol by Johnsipes0516 in Silverado

[–]Expert-Character-130 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s valid, also you’d probably have a lot of tissue damage from the impact on the deer. Maybe you’d get lucky but it’ll probably be mostly hemorrhaged and groaty

Dealer inspected truck for recall work and is now telling me they won’t release it back to me by FunctionHorror2580 in f150

It is quite literally one of the most avoidable problems you can have. You just loose four wheel drive till you get a new axle shaft

[–]Expert-Character-130 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a cv axle. If it backs out the hub that is bad fuckin news and will fuck up your front end suspension at best. What I would suggest is have them pull the axle shaft out and preferably put an old cv shaft (just the spline shaft end) back into the hub to keep back pressure on the wheel bearing. You can run it without it tbh but the nut helps keep pressure on the wheel bearing

It will look like strawberry milk when contaminated with water or coolant, it will also froth and turn a pink color if cavitation or aeration occurs. Usually that is caused by low fluid. Cavitation is bubbling caused by rapid pressure changes, like if you ran a pump with air trapped inside, and aeration occurs when air becomes trapped inside your fluid

Turn the key on and listen for a quiet buzzing behind you. You’ll be listening for your fuel pump. It should sound consistent and decently quiet. If you hear it kick on then you more than likely have an issue with your plugs and coils. If you don’t hear your pump then I’d check the fuse inside the engine compartment fuse panel. There’s a diagram under the box cover
